Nice MR2, I tried doing something like this yesterday lol I really wanted to get some footage of my car whipping past the camera but I don't trust leaving my camera on the side of the road while I zip up the road lol, they are a right bunch of thieving gits here
i had a gorgeous mr2 mk2 just like this [mine was very very dark green] and it's by far the best motor i ever owned - when my son was born i had to get rid of it but damnit one day i'm gonna get another one! so much fun, especially with the glass t-bar roof.
@EnglishPotatoCouncil ...Yeah i was in the same situation as you i sold my rev3 turbo years ago after spending small fortune on hks+blitz gear for it. I also had the t-bar roof great in the summer but leaked like hell in the winter,lol...Happy times!!

@sankoboy Eh I want it to be as good as the 3rd, but look like the 1st and 2nd. The 3rd weighs the least of the 3 and is the "smallest", #1 is second as far as that goes, and the MR2 that I have (2nd gen) is basically the worst of the 3 in my book, but arguably the sexyest. I'd trade it any day for a 1st gen. 2nd gen is like 500lbs. heavier than the 3rd one. But any Mr2 is still my favorite car.

@sankoboy the idea for the mk3 was to go back to the mk1 . the mk 1 was a simple light car with a 1600 engine (minus the super rare supercharged version from japan) but the car got rave reviews by the press for it handling and pick up and go factor.

the mrk 3 was about going back wards. believe it or not its the lightest version of all mr2s. i would go on but no characters left :(

Awesome car man. I wish we can see more of these on the road than the typical and predictable Civics and Integras. Toyota has a long lost history of great race cars like the Supra, Celica, and MR2, hell even the classic 2000GT. Still, Toyota 4 life!
If you find one in bad shape, it may cost you around 2.500 usd. In good shape it could go from 3.000 to 14.000. Sadly am about to put on sale mine. Nice MR2, it looks very clean!!

Very nicely done sir. I admire your respect for the original MR2 shape. Your car looks amazing. Very simple, clean, and unmolested. You haven't bastardized the beauty that is the MR2. Cars like yours are sure to become classics. I have a red NA myself. It is done up a little, but looks like yours does, pretty much stock, the way there supposed to.
Is your car a turbo? Keep your car looking simple and beautiful, the way it was supposed to look. I can't stand those stupid looking snorkels, rediculous wings, and terrible looking body kits.
What is with people who like to bastardize their MR2s? Leave it alone, it's fine the way it is. In fact for me between an SW series MR2 and a NSX, I'll take the MR2 eveytime. Don't even get me started on the people who try to make replica Ferrari 355s out of their cars. The cars look ok, but would look better if these fools would realize that 355 are considerably longer and wider then an MR2, and to make a replica look right you'd have to lengthen and widen the demesions.
I love the angle that you have the parked at 38 seconds. I'm trying to use that view as a guide for a drawing of an MR2. I've done side, front and rear views of cars before, but have struggled with the 3/4 view. I'm trying to figure out how to do a 3/4 view of an mr2, and since your view is the one I want, I'm studying it.
My 91 NA should be fresh out of the paint shop here in about 3 to 4 weeks. I can't wait. I've ordered new aftermarket floormats, as supplies of original OEM mats dried up years ago. My car is as my name states red. I'm the only MR2 I know of in my area that came with stock silver pin stripes down the sides. Some people have said that when I got the car repainted I should take them off, but hey, if they came on the car originally, then they have to go back on, which makes the car unique.
