well you don't have to be on the radio to be sucessful. and generally the radio overplays and butchers most songs. Also, the more popular and mainstream a band becomes, the more pressure the recording studio puts on them to make similar music, so their newer albums just arent the same, look at metallica T^T

I agree with you but at the same time I don't. The only really good music I hear on the radio is a local alternative rock station and that's ALL I listen to. :/ All the mainstream crap is just getting shittier as the years go by. /: I wish they played the good stuff on the radio. But artists, yes, can still be successful without being on the radio and being overplayed you know?
