Carolyn is wrong about health care being a right. Rights are endowed by our creator, we are born with them. A right is an act of volition under autonomous control(i.e. speaking freely, writing, etc.) Benefits , is something that has to be GIVEN to you by another person. Hence health care is a benefit NOT a right.
You are absolutely right! How in the world we went from the country of the free and brave to a country of beggars with their hands held out refusing to work and claiming everything as a right is beyond me. Ben Franklin was absolutely right when he said we will lose this republic once we figure out we can vote ourselves "money" (free stuff).
