  • THIS IS NOT SHRED!

    NOOB

  • wow Fender Scalloper Stratocaster ! ! ! ! !

  • Lol, scalloped frets.

  • where's the 220 BPM??!?!

  • Keep playing 'til you die, old man!

  • You sir, are subscribed now.

  • Gave me chills, man. Great stuff. [:

  • There's actually nothing in this video that is particularly difficult, nor is it really impressive.

  • @hurpDurp1000 that doesnt make it not good...whats the point in even saying what u just said? lol

  • @hurpDurp1000

No need to comment on what you do not find impressive.

  • First ten seconds sound like "Last Resort" by Papa Roach on speed.. great playing!

  • A really interesting picking technique!

  • @NcNikke that's what i thought >.<

  • This guy is amazing, Could go without the yellow short shorts. but still. hahaha

  • Are you by chance Joe stump's or Yngwie Malmsteen's dad? They both shred and both do that on a cream coloured Strat, just like you. That just can't be coincidence!

  • I kept waiting for his old-man saggy balls to fall out of the boxers... Not sure if I should feel disappointed or not.

  • @kizzaht It would definitely be metal!

  • now play it fast

  • I dig your stuff, but if that's 220bpm then you are playing quarter notes. I feel like I can be a little harsh since you have nearly 30k views and its really "nothing interesting." Cheers

  • be at home at 6 for the tea

  • You have an interesting picking technique on this one. Your wrist seems to be static and you seem to be turning your pick as you strike the string by... bending your thumb?

Am I seeing that right? If so, what are the benefits of it? (Also, now I'm wanting to watch myself play in a mirror to see what my picking looks like, lol.) Oh yeah, and what kind of pick are you using?

  • @pandarsson I remember watching an interview with Yngwie and he said someone once told him it looked like he was knitting. The idea is to reduce extra motion.

I personally find the tremolo picking technique to playing fast the easiest. Basically you try to mimic whatever your picking hand feels like when you tremolo pick ,usually a loose feeling, then you try to slow that down to sync with your fret hand, then build back up to tremolo speed. Most people are stiff when they play slow.

  • i need those shorts.

  • this guy is so awesome... i hope to be this good one day :P

  • i wish my grandpa was as cool as you are. :/

  • well done !:)

  • Holy hell man, you have amazingly good alternate picking.... jeezle

  • hahahahahahahah

  • Comment removed

  • @pierredex Dude no disrespect to you but as a guitarist you fing your own way to picking. The way you feel confortable with. A good example is Marty Friedman who has an odd picking style but it works for him and I bet you would be telling Marty how to move his pick ;)

  • dude... this guy play's slayer, metallica, black sabbath, and even yngwie's songs... the picking doesn't matter anymore...

  • @pierredex picking style doesn't matter as long as you sound good.when i pick i anchor my three fingers and move only thumb and index finger because that's how it feels most comfortable

  • @dontdissheavymetal so what?

  • @dontdissheavymetal

You'd be much better if you didn't anchor.

  • @dontdissheavymetal Then you should change you picking technique so you are not anchoring.

  • dude, you seriously shred. love your videos, man

  • You should tab this for us noobs. :) good exercise. 5*

  • Nice man!This is pretty kickass!5/5!
