if you're running Firefox without the ActiveX plugin, it won't infect you. in fact, virtually all of the hacks that work in this manner depend on Java or ActiveX. phishing attempts are different as they're fake login pages and anyone can get caught out - if you are stupid enough not to notice the incorrect web address.
