@sonraz1 YES IN THE TERMS OF HORSE POWER, BUT SINCE THE DRIFT SCENE JUMPED EVERY ONE WAS LOOKING FOR A BETTER 50-50 WEIGHT DISTRIBUTION, AND WITH A FASHION RUSH FOR HAVING A SR20DET EVERY ONE GOT ONE BECAUSE IT ALREADY HAD TURBO FROM STOCK.... BUT IT IS CHEAPER BUILDING A KA24DE+T TILL THE 250HP RANGE AND IT WILL LAST LONGER.
first you start with a good ka24de(with good comp.) and spend $2000dlls, and you have a 350hp engine, if you start with a sr20det, first you have to spend $1500 on a good swap, then spend over $1500 to add parts(turbo, injectors, ecu, intercooler, rad, etc.) to get the sr20det to 350hp. Mainly the parts you have to change to the sr20det are the same parts you will have to buy for the ka24de, but without spending in the swap.
yes, at 15 psi, if it was not tunned the engine had already blew, but it hasn´t, the car is tunned. and yes it is pushing 357hp. for the 180hp at the tires you just need 8psi. Do some research.
sorry brow but i will have to get back on that because i have a rb20det and i have the waist gate disconnected and the if i let it boost all the way it goes to about 18 psi and i truly dont belive it oushes more than 250hp or 280hp i will post a video of the car soon..
Remember that not everythng is the psi of the turbo, diferent size turbos have diferent cfm´s so it is not the same 15 psi on a t25 than 15psi on a t4, and also remember that if you don´t have a proper setup for the 18psi, you will not get the most hp out of it. you need a good ecu map among other things.
because it is the first test, in that moment the car have been runing for 1 min. not more, so we were just checking if every thing worked, not trying to burn tire.
how come manny ppl choose like a sr20 or ca18 when you can also turbo the ka24. i would just like a answer.why?
sonraz1 2 years ago
basically because at first there was no parts for the ka24, and also because the ka24(iron block) is heavier than the sr (aluminum block).
karz1 2 years ago
but isnt iron better than alumium?
wouldnt iron hold more power?
