@jmmurdy not sure just what you saw, 1:48 is my ending clip of every video, but I think you might be talking about the dam itself (1:19). Story goes that it broke after a massive monsoon some years ago, while other old timers say the ranchers blew it up to prevent flooding. As far how deep I really don't know. it varies I would have to guess depending on weather, the Gila is a BIG river so it gets a lot of water at times
Very interesting. Not as creepy as say in New England but creepy enough. I like creepy. I'm going to go there most likely in 6 months or less. I'll have to watch out for snakes!
@vorevox very cool, you'll have fun out here. You might find a couple snakes, but what you wont miss is all the HUGE solar farms creeping across the state...these solar farms are popping up like mad...it's progress I know, but something about seeing them and how much open land they use; a little disheartening you know. Anyway, you'll have a lot to explore when you get here, enjoy and take some video :)
@porn1978 progress I suppose. This is the old hwy, the newer hwy runs parralell to this only a mile or so away. It must have been easier to create a new road, then to fix what was wrong with this one? It's a neat feeling to know that your driving on history, kind of like route 66 in a way. Thanks for watching!
@ilovegmaildou sorry I missed your comment...but yeah it is an old bridge that kinda comes out of nowhere and just ends. It's just off the main road, but I have no idea why it was built nor why it was broken down like it is...
@ilovegmaildou Looked to me like an old bridge that might have been hit with something for military target practice...or it could have just been and old bridge that got bypassed for hwy 80? I like to think of the first my myself :) This is over the flight path for LAFB and there is an old runway not far from here too, check my older videos for the abandoned airport. Thanks for watching!
@k8tnaz I can only imagine how great of a ride it would be on a motorcycle. I really ike the view as you head North past the bridge and drop into the Arlington farm land. Thanks for watching and taking the trip!
@k8tnaz oh hey I forgot to ask you if you ate at the cactus rose just North of the bridge? I have yet to stop in there, but I hear they have good food.
The bar is the Desert Rose, and if you get a chance to stop and eat, do so. They have amazing cheeseburgers. You'll spend around $10 per burger, but they are well worth the money.
There is an area close to that old bridge, where millions, and millions of Preying Mantis congregate and breed...I guess that's why they were there. Anyway, We found them one day and it was amazing. I grabbed a huge one and it hooked my finger with that hook on it's front leg. Drew blood! It was amazing. There were a lot of Coon Tails back in there too. 7 to 8 foot Coon Tails. Gotta be real careful along the Gila and the Hassyampa. If the snakes don't get ya, the Injuns will! :)
@magprob Do you remember what month you were out there when all the preying mantis were around? I would like to take a hike when that's going on. The Gila and Hassyampa are full of fun thats for sure.
@marcusos1111 As you drive through the area it can be a little a creepy I suppose. It's very peacefull actually. You wold haveto try hard to see more than a handfull of cars!
Do you ever find any old cars in the desert that are abandoned and still in good shape body-wise? If so, what kinds of cars have you found? Any worth fixing up if you could get titles for 'em?
@rollieskreetie what kinda car you lookin for? I know where just about anything in az is - as far as old cars. I found a 32' Ford body out in the woods while hunting, and I sold it to a car buff for 180 bucks.
Whats in the water and how deep is it? At 1:48????

Wait a minute, Interstate 80 goes across the Northern route. It doesn't go through Arizona, does it?

I would have snatched up that John Deere tractor.
Those things bring in lots of money.

How is it possible for a Highway to become desserted, when people travel non-stop 365 days a year!??
