  • I listened to bright eyes pretty similar but I mean thousands of artist copy other artist and to get super pissed at this guy is kinda hater ish I liked this version better

  • I love Bright Eyes and this does sound slightly similar in the beginning of the first verse but his voice is totally different and they are both great songs, but don't be dissing bright eyes mate or I'll have to hit you

  • After reading the comments I was intrigued about this other song, Landlocked Blues.

Holy fuck that song is terrible.

This sounds only mildly similar, just from the inflection in the middle of each verse. But still, this is ten times better.

  • I heard this on Pandora and thought I was going crazy thinking it was a rip off of Landlocked Blues. Glad I could confirm I wasn't insane based on the comments here.

  • I'm a hard core Bright Eyes fan and this doesn't sound like Bright Eyes at all.

    Good song btw.

  • Your voice(: Pandora suggested some good music :p

  • DOWNLOAD LINK! epp! please! lol

  • lol i don't get it but it's soooooo AWESOME ;P

  • write your own song

  • nice :)

  • i heard this song on Pandora while i was in my drawing and painting class and i fell in love.

    thanks:D

  • @gracefase thanks! check out our other stuff and show some friends!

  • @gracefase I just heard it on pandora as well...and here I am looking for it on youtube!

  • I LOVE THIS SONG... sorry if your offended. but apparently. i wonder how anyone can loathe this song.

  • Anybody that can honestly say that this is nothing like Landlocked blues doesn't have any grasp on music. Its that same chords and melody just played on a uke, The lyrics are obviously different, and I will say they are good, but if your going to rip off a song have a little more tact and put it in a different key.

  • i dont care if it sounds like bright eyes, its hella catchy. how do i download this song?:]

  • I want chords :(

  • @JustinXCore777

just look up Landlocked blues by Bright eyes

  • I don't mind the borrowed melody. We must remember that all music spawned from the beating of our hearts. That being said, I honestly think I would've liked this song a little bit more had I heard it before I heard Landlocked Blues but it's not even on the same planet as Conor's version.

  • I relate to these lyrics more than landlocked blues, so I like this song a little bit better--- But they are pretty much identical. You even have similar voices. Perhaps you could rework it or something? Just to avoid a potential lawsuit or something.

  • Lol, good job Conor Oberst

  • I've written songs that have sounded very similar to other songs. It's all subconscious. You never mean to copy, it just happens by accident. I love this song nonetheless.

  • Regardless of the similarities between this and "Landlocked Blues," I don't think that the artist did it intentionally. They are both nice songs, and I hope you can enjoy them both without saying one is a direct copy of the other. (It's really not)

  • George Harrison wrote "My Sweet Lord", and was sued because it sounded so much like "She's So Fine". The judge agreed that Harrison didn't intentionally plagiarize and the song has gone on to make millions for the owners of both songs.

Why apologize if you've done nothing wrong?

Hiding it would be like admitting guilt.

    It's a great song.

    From the heart.

    People love it.

    Peace.

  • This song isn't a rip-off of anything. I know personally the artist, and I engineered the recording sessions. Landlocked Blues is a song with a common melody and chord progression. It could just as easily be called a rip-off, but neither artist (Bright Eyes or Andrew Whitman) were aware of the remarkably similar songs that pre-dated theirs.

Sinner's Sonnet is directly from the heart. It makes me tear up- 'cause I know Andrew. Anyone that accuses him of artistic dishonesty doesn't know him.

  • also, in this day and age, your more likely to butcher the statistic of potential fans, by playing a song that clearly replicates that which has already been put out by a known contemporary musical icon, all im saying is that, do you really want to have to tell the crowd what you just said for them not to think youre an asshole, everytime you play a show? just drop the song from your cassette list, or play it in your bedroom and dont tell anyone, you two might know diff., but look at these posts

  • pressure was like duh duh duh, duh-duh-duh duh

ice ice baby was like duh duh duh, duh-duh-duh duh

how can you even say there the same?

  • You are obviously entitled to choose to not believe what we say. But just wanted to give you our story. This song means a lot to us and the lyrics are very relevant to us and our lives. Listen to our other songs too and I think you'll understand that we put all we are into our music

  • Hey viewers, Thanks for listening and commenting. For all of you pointing out the uncommon similarity between landlocked blues and sinner's sonnet, you are not the first. We have heard this before and this has consistently been our answer. As hard as it may be for you to believe, my cousin and I wrote this song with no knowledge of landlocked blues. neither of us are or have been listeners of bright eyes. we know it has the same melody and chords.

  • "We made love on the living room floor.

With the noise in the background from a televised war.

And in that deafening pleasure, I thought I heard someone say,

If we walk away they'll walk away"...

THIS SONG IS A DIRECT RIP-OFF OF CONNOR OBERST'S LANDLOCKED BLUES.
