The gear ratios are so close together and the throttle reponse is so good that he barely has to touch the throttle when he heal and toes. I have one of this car's cylinder heads on my M3's S50B30 engine - Whoo, claim to fame!

For Sure. The FIA World Sports Car Series was dead. The FIA effectively killed the Group C Category when it tried to turn into a Formula Series. Costs ballooned out of control. So between 1993 and 1997... It was mostly Millionares throwing money at any car they thought could score them a Championship or two. Can't blame them though, it made for fantastic racing.

Yeah, Vipers, 911 GT2's and the infamous CLK GTR's... Good memories. It was a shame Ferrari never went forward with their F50 GT program... I guess they didn't want to fight with McLaren/Mercedes and Porsche. It would of kept the GT1 category alive for a few more years and made for a larger and better field.

If you want to see more onboards from McLaren F1 GTR, get a dvd called "In-Car Sportscar Experience" by Duke Video. About 50 mins of footage from mostly F1 GTR, but also some other cars that raced in the BPR Endurance Series (FIA GT predecessor), with superb sound quality.
