@adamandtyler132 it sounds like the paint you are useing is to heavy, they want you so use spray paint for this why of painting because it gives a good coating with out any of the paint running or soaking into the tape

you dont need to use a string to hang and paint you can exacto knife the little spot where the shell cuts in two and you can spraypaint it easier because you can just set it down on paper/newspaper

@richiexboxlive painting directly onto a black controller will result in darker colors. if you want the true color of your paint you can first paint your black controller white. once you have painted it white go ahead and paint it what ever color you want.

My black controller has a texture of minature bumps so your hand doesn't get as sweaty and can breath. Wouldn't painting it cover up those bumps? You could do tiny layers of paint but I think it would still cover. What does happen?

Lil tip when you are cutting the tape with an Exacto knife. Use the blade not the tip. It makes it easier to extract the shape that you cut out, rather than having to smooth out the little pieces that are still connected to the main piece of the tape.

hey can someone please help me? i've been painting my controller for about 2-3weeks now. i have all the materials necessary. I have the adhesion promoter, the right auto paints, the clear coat, & all the tools. however, when i finish my controllers, they turn out sticky, or after i play with them for a bit, they start to get sticky. can someone please explain what i'm doing wrong here? :(

@ho0pla I'm assuming that it's cold where you are and your trying to paint outside. The cold weather screws with the drying process in paint and since there is no way to change the weather you can use a hairdryer and use that to heat/dry your paint after your down. Also be sure to give it a full 24 hrs in ABOVE 75 degree air.

THen I'm gonna let it dry in my warm basement for like a week. & if theres still bumps (cuz im doing a mask) then im gonna hit it with another layer of clear coat.

Question: You are using blue masking tape. I've done a few controllers now and I'm having trouble with overspray. It seems the tape isn't sticky enough. BUT: I see you are using the blue tape without problem, how could that be?
