@GreggMaff Lions of Batucada is a renown group from here in Portland, OR. They really tear it up! Bat Makumba is also really fun, though they have a MPB/Pop influence that reminds me a little more of Marcio Local and such

Brazilians or not, they are good. Notice the girls playing the "tamborim" (not a "tambourine", but a small handheld single-headed drum played with a stick) and the master, who also plays kickass drum. Takes a lot of reharsing to this sort of thing. The dancer is good, but a bystander outside the Brazilian tradition.

We had Batucada from Wellington, New Zealand at our Hastings Blossom Festival on 12.09.09 (my birthday) and I so enjoyed them, especially the lady who had the shaker.
