@RollRSkateGirl Thank you for your info, but I just quoted from Yuna's autobiography. She said she and her coach both considered spin's variation cuz of level-up and made this spin. Well.. I didn't think she saw "ROLLER" skaters in "1970" ;) Also, I just watched 'inverted spin' and it's great but no one did beautiful as her. no grace. no parallel to the ground. no bending free leg at right angle. So that's why Yuna Spin's worthy of the name.

By the way, the layback-style camel spin is not an original Yu-Na move. It was invented by Canadian champion Josee Chouinard back in the early 90's. Yu-Na has brought it back and does it beautifully! Not surprising, as Brian Orser knew Josee very well, and it was probably his idea to bring the move back for Yu-Na's repertoire.

@frankintele No. This spin was invented by Yuna in 2004. Josee's spin is not the same as Yuna's one. Her upper body is completely parallel to the ground with her arms stretched -but Josee didn't.

Also, did you really watch this vid? I doubt it, man. ;) Yuna has performed the position since 2004. So, Orser has nothing to do with Yuna Spin.

@dyuo0o Actually freestyle roller skaters have been doing this layback (inverted) camel spin since the 1970's. (do a serach on you tube for roller skating inverted camel and you will bring up lots of hits). I'm glad to see someone bringing this great spin to the ice - but Yu-na didn't "invent" it. :)

Yuna's way of using this particular spin seem to look more beautiful and elegant, comparing to many other skaters....so this spin has become a favorite among her fans....hence the naming the spin, "Yuna Spin"....

@wontonboi64 She's not changing any of her techniques, since there's nothing wrong with her jumpiing techniques; of course there may be a room for further improvement, but certainly nothing to 'fix'. And certainly no 3A, it's just a baseless rumors. There's no point for Yuna to do 3A when she can do perfect 3Lz-3T that earns far more score than 3A-2T.

@wontonboi64 of all the beautiful athleticism and artistry Yu-Na has and showcases with every performance she gives, her spirals are definitely sub-par. When you see a perfect spiral the toes should be turned completely out to the side and the legs should be in as close to a vertical split as possible. Yu-Na's leg isn't quite high enough but the main problem is her toes are pointed backward in side of to the side. But she truly is one of the best the sport has ever seen and I really respect her.

@wontonboi64 They're pointing out behind her. Like her hip isn't turned out at all. For reference: if the foot she's skating on is pointed forwards, the foot of the free leg is pointed directly opposite. It's actually harder the way she does it but it's not as pretty or high. She does it more like a ballerina would do an arabesque, not how a skater is supposed to execute a spiral (with the toes pointed out to the side).

Yeah they went separte ways. There's whole drama behind that but I don't wanna bore you with the gory details. Anywho she's got a new coach. I don't remember his name but I heard that he's Qwan's brother in law. So she's training in LA area I guess. I also heard that she's gonna use Korean folk song called arirang for her new long program.

I love this spin! I don't know why some people do not want to call this move Yuna spin. It's definitely her signature move. There were some skaters who performed similar spin positions, but nobody has ever performed the spin in such a perfect way - her upper body is completely parallel to the ground with her arms beautifully stretched- as she did. She has performed the position since 2004-for 6 years, in every competition she competed!
