I agree with the writers below - one of the truly underrated and talented American bands - can hold there own with driving rock and soulful story telling. In about 15 years there's going to be a 15 disk boxset and several people will realize what they've been missing.
Really is crazy how many people I know that CONSIDER THEMSELVES?..... "Music experts", that associate nothing more than "La Bamba" with Los Lobos. To this day, it's the only thing they know. So I burn them a 10 song mix and they are blown away! They have everything you need in a band. Great writers, vocals, players, and seemingly, wonderful guys! If I had to pay to go see 5 American bands in concert, they would make my list, along with maybe Petty, Springsteen, Wilco, and the Black Crowes. (REM?)
That would be the one and only David Hidalgo! I saw him and Louie Perez from Los Lobos on Saturday in Irvine CA and man did his voice sound great! An awesome singer an musician of multiple instruments: guitar, fiddle, accordion, lap-steel and sometimes percussion! My favorite band hands down!
i've known and listened to los lobos since the 80's, more form a distance. buy over the last few years i am easily becoming a LL, and more specifically, a David Hildago convert. just remembering their songs that played on KROQ when i was a kid, and that soothing soulful voice that i realized all these years later is a singularly great voice, that would be David Hildago. and of course, he shreds on guitar, and whatever other instrument he seems to play. The guy has the "high lonesome sound".
Thank You Very Much for this amazing video! Very warm! With the "cajón" from Perú for the rithm! David Your voice still at it best! From Conejo Jolivet ( we met at Madrid, almost 20 year a go! An afterwards in Buenos Aires, with Roy Rodgers. Chau!
I wonder if the man behind him knows that the woman that appears to be talking in the corner keeps morphing into a skeliton much like the one from "the scream". OK its probably the photography, but look again. I swear she looks like death sometimes. I wonder if she is "undead". (eeeeooooor!) Hey, it may be Mexican humour. Love Los Lobos as usual. No, I'm not on drugs, take a look (lol).
@saintfletcher i was gonna tell tell ya to lay off the glue and applejack but yeah i saw the same thing- i watched this vid probably ten times this morning/listened to it probably adozen more and all i can figure is some weird exposure effect unintentional(?) but still cool beans!
i AGREE WITH BETTERDAYS105. I saw them do this on A&E's Breakkfast with the Arts a few weeks ago and really dug this song. I think it has that "garage band" like quality.
love it!!!...

Been a fan for years. Finally got to see them @Harvest Fest in New Brunswick in Sept. 09. Easily in the top 10 shows i've been lucky enough to see.

LOL, that is true SaintFletcher. Oh it is also true that Los Lobos may be the best band on the face of the earth, and this video is proof of that.
