  • The old lady that worked in the pawnshop cracked me up. This movie was very realistic. Then again so was the music from that time, late 60's early 70's. I think that they should have added some music from that time to this movie.

  • That the GodFather

  • Candy is such a good remake of this. They're both gritty and incredible films. Al Pacino is fuckin fabulous in everything, esp in somethign like this.

'I'M A SEX CRAZED DOPE ADDICT" <-i died

  • depressing

  • this and trainspotting are the greatest drug addict movies i think ive ever seen

maybe blow and fear&loathing too :]

  • he always plays on drug movies my favourite ones :DDDDDDDDDDD

  • Best drug addicted movie ever.

    Pacino made it even better.

  • reminds me of scarface

  • one of my all time fav movie!! so underrated.. great

  • i fucking LOOOOOVVVE

    Al Pacino

    =D

  • It's like a precursor to Requiem for a Dream.

  • that narrator voice creeps me the fuck out

  • yeah reminds me when the demon speaks in the exorcist or horror movie trailers from the 70's

  • Guys, the film is great, kind of a documentary about drug addicts and how they get dragged in this vicious circle. Al Pacino is awesome for one more time!

  • al pacino looks soooo sexy!!!

  • LOVE this film, have the book aswell.

  • this movie looks cool

  • He oui c le deuxième et non le premier film d'une longue série dont le dernier est La loi et l'ordre avec de Niro

  • his second.. dont forget "me, natalie"

  • his first flick

  • actually it was his second

  • Good old movie. I saw it a long time ago, but I remember it well. It's one of the best in this kind of movies (about drugs).

  • Look at the sign in the phone booth (havent seen one of those in 20 years) at the 1:30 mark, it says 911-this was 1971, probably shot in 1970, most of us in the "fly-over states" didnt get that until the late 80's-early 90's-I remember when we got it, there was even a tv show about people who had called 911

  • Looks like an interesting movie. This is what brought Al to the attention of Francis Ford Coppola, who fought bitterly to keep him on The Godfather.

OMG Al was 31 in this movie, but he looks 21!

  • This movie is what propelled Pacino to stardom. It shows all of the sides of Pacino that he would show in future films. His tenderness, his rage, it's all here.

  • does anyone have the script of this movie?

  • this movie made al pacino a star

  • You're thinking of the Godfather. Nobody knew who Al Pacino was even after this movie.

  • Great 70´s film,like "born to win"

  • I remember when NYC was like this

  • This is a hard movie to watch let alone find..It is real to life and believe me thats why it hasnt been promoted over the years..Al Pacino and Kitty Wynn are excellent in this movie..I saw it when it came out in 1971-72 and never ever forgot it..I finally found a bootleg copy that is fairly done..Great Movie..Classic..It will make your Belly Flip...!

  • Johnny Thunders

  • I love this movie.

  • What was the character 'chico's' part in the movie, played by Kiel Martin? I don't plan on seeing the movie.

  • this is some weird ass film

  • Yes, to the other poster: this seems like this movie was the inspiration for Requiem for a Dream.

The talents of Al Pacino and Kitty Wynn made this film that one's superior.

  • Requiem was taken from the book by Hubert Selby Jr...the two films are definately similar, but Panic didn't inspire Requiem...

  • He is beautiful.

    What talent, ahh.

  • Al Pacino was at his most cute and lovable here (those doe eyes) ... and at his most artistically fertile.

This film, like Scarecrow, isn't terribly popular nowadays, though. I liked him in both.

  • Pacinos talent makes you want cry! He is so damn good! And the actress is superb as well.

Actually, where I live the major dvd-store HAS this movie but... hold on... has NOT got Dog Day Afternoon.

Not that I'm complaining, just thought it would be more like the other way around.

  • Interesting to hear that voice-over Kitty Winn does kinda narrating the thing! Sorta cheesy. The movie's a lot better than this makes it look.

    Thanks for posting!

  • Pacin & De Niro = God!

  • Al Pacino steals a t.v. set from an van!!!

  • Pacino = God

  • Al Pacino was 31 but he looks much younger than that, you would think hes 21!

  • the voice-over sounds like the guy from the taxi driver trailer

  • gosh, Al was 31 in 1971. And yet, he looks like a cute little boy in that movie!

  • This is classic! I started getting into Scatzberg's work after reading about his photography retrospective on the site JuliB. he's a total 20th century classic, worked with Al Pacino, BobDylan, Faye Dunaway....

  • I LOVE this movie..

    Although I don't do smack, I acually don't

    mind atchin' it be done..

    Pachino is AWESOME...

  • I bought this movie today.., this sounded good.

  • 36 years too late!! shame on you!!!

  • haha :D

  • the trailers of the 70's always the same begin :D the date the place funny is that but it's about a pacino film right!!!
