Scott Very Very nice. I am thinking that my Grandfather must have been there at least once since he was from Glasgow. Think of this: If you keep going south on this geoligical range you will be walking the Appalachean Mountain (Spelling ?) range and come eventually to Cumberland Gap, then down Florida, to the Carabean Islands. WOW We are all connected. Wallace.
@wallyozzy It'd be amazing to go and do something like that, like explained about West Highland Way, there'd be no way I'd do that far again in 2 days, plus would need better boots. But aye, if your Granda was from Glasgow, I would have no doubt. One of the great things about Glasgow, you're surrounded by all that and it's easy access. And the scenery at Glencoe is out of this world, it's like going back in time.
@ScottMcK9 , one more question, forgot to add @ at begining of my responce before, this might seem stupid, but do you come across any shops that sold sandwiches every day? In Great Glen way there werent many places that sold food along the way, maybe see 1shop every day.
@MrForrest1991 You do come across places like the beer garden 8 miles in and the places you stop at like Drymen etc, even Balmaha. There's certain wee hostels that actually do stuff, it's mostly a case of reaching your destination though lol so it might be similar in a sense.
ScottMcK9 Cheers buddy, Im hopeing to go walk it alone in a mounth and half, I did the Great Glen way last year, i too got blisters first day, not as bad as your though, LOL i know what you mean when you said you felt like crying about the pain, my backpack was to big for me, so couldnt rest any of its weight around my skinny 28inch waist, and my shoulders got all the weight on them and were in pain! It was amazing though! I hope to Climb Ben Nevis when i compleate The West HIghland way too. :]
@MrForrest1991 Ah! you should manage West Highland Way then. Great Glen Way is 72 miles and West Highland Way is 95 miles. It's pretty tough but you'll love it. And aye lol my fault for wearing those boots and not powdering them, that was the punishment lol and when you go through pain, it because mentally tough. Other than that though, the scenery doing it is superb, so of course, wish you the best of luck when you go to do it. As for Ben Nevis, I've climbed that twice...
@MrForrest1991 Obviously when I climbed Ben Nevis though, it was when I camped in Fort William. It's 10 miles to the summit, but worth it if you get a clear view, apparently can see Norn Ireland from the top.
@MrForrest1991 Alright buddy cheers for subscribing, aye apparently thousands walk West Highland Way a year, there's quite a lot of people that walk it. Wouldn't quite picture it like a marathon or something, but you could see from the video by what I mean. There's quite a lot of foreigners that come over and do it by themselves, although quite funny, we had to direct this one German guy in the right direction, he almost past by the sign lol
@mfnjord It's more of the lowlands that remind me of Denmark, like surrounding Glasgow, whereas Glen Coe is mountainous, they're the Munro's :) as for Braveheart? lol thanks :) am very proud of Scotland, not hard to see that by my profile though lol I don't have to say much lol :D
@mfnjord I do? :) well am happy that folk say that I do, and aye :) you have a lot to be proud of your Scandinavian history, especially about the Vikings :)
@ScottMcK9 I know.. My father thougt me well.. he named me and my sister after the nordic mythologi.. He is a Modern Viking.. ( i dont meen in that way that he runs around in the woods and figths mytholigic monsters;).. One of my own interest are old saying and history about that age:) Sorry for my english.. i am better at speaking it then write it:)
@mfnjord lol nothing wrong with that :) and I respect that English is not your first language, so wouldn't expect perfection. I can't even speak another language never let alone write one lol and aye, I can understand the way your dad would be, proud of his heritage and it's followed to yourself :) as for the Mythology, it's amazing :) which is why I loved Thor lol :D
@mettanc There are some public phone booths, the older styled ones are usually out in the countryside. Most commonly in a city though, people have their mobile phones lol and aye, driving on the left side of the road and the drivers side on the right lol
@jaycymru hahahaha! :D heard the music a million times and still love it, and aye, because of the music, it's been blocked in Germany this video lol well at least it's still showing elsewhere lol
