This is a beautiful recording of this sublime movement. The first two movements were not appreciated at the premier in 1869; only the third found favor. Today it may be the opposite as the third movement is rather awkward, though well developed. This is the one concerto where I wish Saint-Saens (among my favorite composers) had re-written the last movement, to be more in line with the first 2.Thank you for this posting of a neglected and fascinating work. The pianist is J-P Collard.
