  • @Cooperlaa92 Actually Tony Bennett did a new version of this featuring Lady Gaga. It was not a remix and is actually quite good. I would also point out that Frank Sinatra was not the first to sing this song either. Maybe if everyone just let things be.

  • I eat dinner at 3.

    I LOVE THEATRE..

    I hate being Late.

    I don't talk to people I hate.

    That's why... I'm a tramp. D:

  • dose any one listen to the music or is it just fun to diss everything.

  • @EllenMusic6 so was I !

  • Doesn't the very beginning remind anyone else of the tune to "Cruella de Vil"?

  • I WAS BORN IN THE WRONG DECADE :(

  • lmao at eddy87su so true haha

  • In 2011 this song would be named: Da bitch iz a ho

  • @eddy87su 2012 punk ass trick ass bitch ass HOE!

    lol

  • Frank Sinatra makes lmfao look like crap

  • 14 people don't know what class is.

  • I love Frank Sinatra I listen to him for hours on end and drive my room mates at college crazy with my Frank Sinatra albums.

  • @LadyCowbell You're doing God's work. :)

  • How can you dislike this?

  • what a great accent..i really like that....

  • quite simply superb!

  • I can't tell if this song is meant to be complimentary or insulting...? >w>

  • @kickflipkb It's tongue in cheek; it means this lady isn't a phony, does what she wants to- and so other people who *are* phonies talk trash about her and call her a tramp.

  • I keep playing this over and over. Love it!

  • Oh, and this is AMAZING. More music needs to be like this, and it needs to be in the top of the music charts. Make it happen people! Do your part!

  • @SuperGreenSmartie Back to the 1930s and 1950s, Fucking great era!

  • @MifsterGoesRawr *eras

  • What genre of music is this? I can't remember for some dam reason.

  • @SuperGreenSmartie it's usually called Swing music

  • @SuperGreenSmartie It's Jazz.

  • @crystalpanther I would classify it more as classic Pop

  • @Saxymanemem Okay, but I still consider it as jazz because Frank Sinatra is a jazz singer and this song is more classified as jazz big band.

  • @crystalpanther True, very true

  • oh mon Dieu, je suis si fatigué d'enfants en disant "j'ai 12 ans et j'adore cela», et comme tels. Donne-moi une pause baise.

  • The lady is a tramp: l.o.l. describes either of the jEw bitches Sarah Silverman or Amy Winehouse! A dog or a swine is more of a lady than either of these filthy, smelly kikes.

  • @ndrussiangerman1

The song is ironic...he is describing a woman who refuses to mold to the norm. She "wont dish the dirt, with the rest if the girls" i.e. she doesn't talk shit ;) She cares little for titles or income, won't associate with people whom she questions the character of, etc. You totally missed the point of this song. I'd say this song best describes people like Lady Gaga or Alecia Keys, intelligent women who live by their own rules yet are still respectful of people.

  • ....<3 I love this guy. I wish I could have been born in the era where this was common music.

  • mmh hab was geiles entdeckt haha

  • What the fuck. Why does that tranny have more veiws when he/she didnt even write it?! Makes no sense when Frank is a legend and Gaga is just puppet for the industry....

  • @uprivershadow thats not very nice. :/

  • @JohnAnthonyyy Truth is never nice my friend

  • @uprivershadow actually shes not a tranny so not much truth there. Frank Sinatra will always be bigger than Lady GaGa, so it doesn't matter how many views her version with Tony Bennet has. There's no need to be rude about it.

  • @JohnAnthonyyy Oh did Sinatra have 10 #1 sinlgles in 24 countries? Did he get nominated for album of year 3 times in a row at the Grammy's ??? Oh right, no. Guess that makes him more famous.

  • @VoteYou Hey, why don't you just enjoy the music, instead of starting arguments. (:

  • Comment removed

  • @voxToolfox yes, well you are an idiot.

  • @JohnAnthonyyy oh and btw, Tony Bennet > Sinatra til the end of time.

  • @uprivershadow Because in this generation, she is better known. I think she is brilliant. She literally does what ever the hell she wants..and gets paid for it. This is by far the better version of the song, but I would say it does describe Miss Gaga well.

  • It doesn't matter how old you are, you just got to love Frank ;)

  • @malachaisaac so true

  • Only Sinatra could get away with calling a lady a tramp! :)

  • such an amazing voice just makes your heart swoon

  • Everyone is gay

  • @SkaCoreX lol

  • @SkaCoreX yes i am happy listening to this song

  • @Bloxboomer Good lad, Big band <3

  • mmh ich bin blond

  • Ha ha ha! true me thinks

  • @jmf0st3rr Twas a joke, mon cherie.

  • @TheSunnRose its good to see that at least some young people have a good knowledge of culture and good music. well done you :) (btw im 14 and currently play in a jazz trio)

  • Far better then Bennet&Gaga duo

  • @Pilipic

Matter of opinion. I prefer the other version, it's much more lively.

  • @Pilipic ya but bennett is still amazing singer.

  • If i hear "OMG have you head lady gagas song The Ladys a Tramp" one more time I will explode.

  • @MongolTide

OMG have you heard Lady GaGa's song "The lady is a tramp"?! :D

  • @MongolTide Well, it isn't Frank's either.

  • good song pallie

  • Frank Sinatra and Lady Gaga actually have quite a lot in common. He also looked ridiculous dressed as a woman. And they both have a cock.

  • @LondonPride25

    Learn how to be respectful.

  • @dollbunnyhunny Learn to have a sense of humour.

  • @LondonPride25

This is the internet. It is difficult to portray sarcasm. Respect on the other hand...

  • the reason why I searched ole Blue Eyes version of this is coz I just heard Lady Gaga singing this and I couldnt stand it ..

  • not heard this version before - love it !

  • ____"Mistura de clássico com incrìvel"

  • Thumbs up if Kardashian brought you here...the bitch.

  • Regarding the cover: I'm not a fan of it, but I acknowledge that they're both good singers. I prefer the original and I'm not hating it because it's a cover, I just don't like it.

  • Are you fucking seriously dissing a perfect version of Gaga just because she's Lady Gaga ? Give credit where credit is due, she sang perfectly and her charisma dare I say even clouded Tony Bennett. Stop being douchebags and appreciate the music.

  • very boring compared to gaga's version

  • @nehuptra We forgive your musical ignorance.

  • @nehuptra you're a tramp

  • @nehuptra maybe not but this is the man who helped sculpt music today! and way better than gaga in terms of pitch

  • @Sunzu49 My little sister knows who Frank Sinatra is, matter of fact, she actually likes Jazz. She's 11. :3

  • he is a genius

  • @MrBabyBlue1991 *was

  • Why are people calling it GaGas cover? I know she's on the new version but it's in a duet with one of Sinatra's favourite vocalists and associates Tony Bennett, he should get the recognition as well!

  • Ok. I heard this song first from Gaga...So I took a listen to this version. He's amazing. I've heard a few of his songs before...He's truly talented. :D

  • @InoYamanaka3000 fuck gaga

  • @BASHMAN9t5 Yeah, fuck a talented musician who also did a really good cover of this song with another incredibly talented musician. What a bitch.

  • @BASHMAN9t5 If you'd like to.

  • Now, when youngsters get to hear this version, they'll probably think, "He's singing about Lady GaGa!" :3

(And probably discover the great Frank Sinatra sometime afterwards...)

  • @Sunzu49 haha, no. I'm 12, and a LOT of my friends know who Frank Sinatra is, and I'm doing Frank for my biography this year.

  • @TheSunnRose OMG I'M 12 TOO!!! xD

  • @Sunzu49 I think our generation still knows frank sinatra. I'm sixteen and I love his songs, and i also like jazz in general. Don't blame us because the lame music of this time, the most of us still knows something about good music.

  • imagine sinatra, bennett and gaga together <3 that would be awesome

  • @jacoboam fuck gaga, that dirty ugly cunt.

  • @eagledynasty81 language :P

  • hurr hurr im using da internets, why can't people just listen to the moozacs

  • I just realized Mr, Sinatra didn't really have that great of a voice

  • @quinn244 HOW?!

  • @quinn244 How is his voice not up to par? His voice is absolutely splendid :D

  • Thats why this song is a champ :)

  • She gets too hungry, for dinner at eight She loves the theater, but doesn't come late She'd never bother, with people she'd hate That's why the lady is a tramp Doesn't like crap games, with barons and earls Won't go to Harlem, in ermine and pearls Won't dish the dirt, with the rest of those girls That's why the lady is a tramp She loves the free, fresh wind in her hair Life without care She's broke, but it's o'k She hates California, it's cold and it's damp
  • oops but i think this version is kinda slow.. and boring ..

  • Damn but he's one cool cat.

  • when i grow old i want to put his record in my house and just dance around like in the 60s.

  • I loved the look on her face when he first says "The lady is a tramp"

  • i like the pic at 3:14!! (:

  • love this!!

  • @YeIIowBedwetter But what would happen when those people die?

  • I dont get this song. I mean, its a nice crooner song, but all the explanations seem contrary to a lady being a tramp.... or is the song ironic. I dont get it.

  • @rockman22 we played this song in our neighbours grandads funeral, his in heaven now, peace from poland kurva

  • @rockman22 Too bad you couldn't look up all the lyrics and the context of the song; it's about a woman who's a hobo, not sexually wonton.

Maybe you could have spent a bit of time to click around and find this out but you obviously chose not to.

  • @overbyjames This song was written in 1937 so how can Gaga's version be a cover but Sinatra's isn't?

    Sounds pretty stupid.

  • @SatchmoSings Who was it originally by?

  • @overbyjames One day, maybe, you'll have something called "The Internet."

When that happens you'll be able to look up all kinds of stuff FOR YOURSELF rather than ask for ready, easy, spoon-fed answers.

    This too sounds pretty stupid.

  • @SatchmoSings Wow, you seem like a real douche.

  • @overbyjames And you sound like a whiney cry baby with absolutely no capability of self-reliance.

Mom still wipes and diapers you.

  • @SatchmoSings I think people tend to go by who is well known for singing the song. It's no longer simply a cover if you have made the song your own. It's just always been if Sinatra touches something.... it is HIS by default. haha I don't even think I'll argue it. It's Sinatra. :)

  • @SavingSmilesForYou This was recorded in 1956; the song was already 19 years old by then and there were many recordings that did exist before this one.

I suppose you could be justified in making the claim as you have; the same could also be said of Sinatra doing "I've Got You Under My Skin" which was from a film in 1936. (Clips available.)

You shouldn't necessarily make the "default" claim unless you've explored earlier recordings.

  • @SatchmoSings I have. These are my favorite songs. And you are right with all your facts. I just think it's an injustice to Sinatra's impact on the music world to even have someone new to the scene (Gaga) being compared to him, especially because of what music she makes. Her name still (and possibly never) should even be uttered next to Sinatra's. I know that it's a bold statement, but I'm sure Gaga herself would humbly agree with me. haha

  • @SavingSmilesForYou Your talking as you have about Sinatra is not unlike what people said about him when he first appeared on the scene; then the argument was made of him vs. Bing Crosby.

I think Lady Gaga is a tremendous talent and I expect her sun to rise even higher and to shine as brightly as it can and yes, she may even eclipse Sinatra; she's certainly more multi-faceted then he was; Sinatra failed at marketing himself in the early 1950s.

  • @SatchmoSings Yes, and no one saw it coming, but Sinatra became bigger than the great Bing Crosby. :) I do understand that you are trying to show me that I am not being forward thinking. And I have no factual evidence to support my argument. I just don't think that she has "it" like Sinatra always had "it". He's a star. He is grace. Lady Gaga isn't even Hollywood. It's a shame for all the talent she has. Her act about being weird and different. It's not classy and it's justnothing special to me.

  • @SavingSmilesForYou 01. Lady Gaga's "act" is one of reinvention; she can be one thing to her mainstream, pop audience and now that she's accomplished this, (with money in the bank) she can go onto other things and, this is what you're missing, her fans will follow her in anything that she does; this video alone has introduced MILLIONS of people to a genre of music that would never ever have otherwise checked out (along with Tony Bennett) and she also does it incredibly well.

  • @SavingSmilesForYou 02. (See the video where bennett talks about her.)

This woman writes her own material (and I think it pretty good, considering where she performs it), can do Jazz, Blues, rock 'n' Roll and Cabaret plus she's also a superb pianist. She also knows the business side of music from having worked at "Famous Music," a huge publishing house and she also understands marketing; she's a genius and I know she'll go far.

  • glee ruined this

  • Thank you Gaga for not ruining this.

  • This song was actually from Babe of Arms in the 30's and Sinatra recorded it in the 50's.

  • Why are y'all griping about Gaga singing a Frank Sinatra song? Tony Bennett asked her to do a duet, so why don't you bash him for thinking that Gaga would do the song justice? Gaga sang the song a hell of a lot better than any other singer would. SO just calm your tits and listen to the damn music, and if you don't like it, change it.

  • @visini14 ItS not a "Frank Sinatra Song" genius; it's from a 1937 Broadway show.

  • When the song was written a tramp was something totally different, it wasn't a whore or skank like now, it was a women who wondered town to town, some-what like a homeless women.

  • @deedeedmb Tramp in "those days" meant all the same things it does now and yes, this song is about a woman who's a hobo, not sexually wanton.

  • @SavingSmilesForYou LOL you gonna love her, cuz someday you gonna look with your eyes, not with your feeling's ;-]

  • @SavingSmilesForYou Lady Gaga will also be forever because Toni Bennett couldn't get over her and says so right here on "Youtube."

  • @SatchmoSings I have to respectfully disagree. I don't see her being talked about forever. I don't see her as larger than life like Sinatra or Holiday or Charles. She has shock value. That's nothing. What's her story? How does she have character? You really think that it is her MUSIC that she will be remembered for? She has talent, but I don't think that the product that she makes is at all memorable. She makes catchy dance club tunes. Those disappear. Sorry.

  • @SavingSmilesForYou You've obviously not seen the video of her with Tony Bennett nor seen the video where Bennett discusses Gaga; you could have done that before contacting me.

Also, there are videos of Gaga playing her "catchy dance club tunes" acoustically where she accompanies herself on the piano; she's an excellent pianist and her tunes come across as genuine cabaret.

Too bad your all totally unaware of any of this

  • @SatchmoSings I did. She sang this song wonderfully. That doesn't change the fact that I think she doesn't use her talent in a way that will make her a real legend in the music industry. Maybe she can play instruments well. Still, she just doesn't have the persona like Sinatra had it. Too bad that you don't see just how big Sinatra is. He didn't have to try to be mesmerizing. How Gaga is in the public is a punch line. The real legends would never shame themselves like that for attention.

  • @MrMcdanger fuck off you uneducated idiot

  • @lottifer0 LOL and you are really smart ;-]

  • I've loved this song for a very long time and while I like gaga and her version, sort of wish she hadn't done it in the 1st person...it's not about you and your "so unconventional" image, gaga, it's about all free women.

  • Playboy Club brought me here. :]]

  • love this song, love this scene in Pal Joey. classic Sinatra charm, he could have tamed the wildest of women.

  • I came here because of the Gaga version.

  • People seriously have no good taste when it comes to music. This is the best version ever. Gaga has nothing on Sinatra.

  • @iflJomo What a lovely time it was... when singing just involved talking while a big band handled the music.

  • THIS IS SOOOOO MUCH BETTER THEN LADY GAGA'S VERSION!!!

  • Comment removed

  • it's like hes describing me.. guess i'm a tramp!

  • i remember i fell in love with this song when my dad showed it to me when i was 5 then i re fell in love with it when i heard it on The Glee Project and once again here i am falling in love with this song once again :)

  • Great version! Frank Sinatra always does great stuff, however to the above comment about no cover being as good as Frank Sinatra's....well that is a contradiction since Frank Sinatra's version is a cover. Just saying

  • Honestly if it wasn't for Frank, Lady Gaga wouldn't have her version. So don't go hating on Sinatra.

  • You wanna talk about Gaga, go to her cover and do it. Aren't we supposed to be appreciating Frank here? c:

  • GAGA KILLED IT

  • I actually prefer Tony and Gaga's version! o_O But the original is still by him and we should appreciate that! :p

  • The value of music has changed in so many ways. I really wish people would sing like this more often. It's so soothing and it automatically brings a smile to your face <3

  • This is one of his best, if I wanted to listen to GAGA then I would be listing to "Born this Way". It is amazing how many people don't appreciate Frank Sinatra. Don't hate, I would like to see you belt out this tune!

  • I love this song. I myself found out about this song from the Gaga cover version. As many people tend to hate upon. No cover of this song could ever be at the same level or as fantastic as Frank Sinatra, but it's fantastic that this music is being revived.

This music should be around forever, and if it takes a little revamping now and then, or a major artist of today's time to bring it back up, it shouldn't matter. The music is still being enjoyed.

It doesn't matter who's version is "better"

  • Comment removed

  • @BereftlyObsequious Couldn't have said it better myself

  • @BereftlyObsequious Exactly.

And I'd rather have Gaga cover this song than any of the other pop "stars" nowadays.

My girlfriend once dragged me along to a Lady Gaga concert, and I was rather impressed by her performance. Her voice is amazing, even live and without auto-tune. And her piano performances are outstanding.

In short: The hate the Lady Gaga version gets is completely unwarranted. The fact that Tony Bennett agreed to sing it with her is telling too, by the way.

  • @BereftlyObsequious Gaga's cover, the song just doesnt fit her at all, i dont like GaGa, but i hear her songs on the radio and else, and this song just didnt fit her.

  • @BereftlyObsequious Ultimately, it doesn't matter because they're both definitely better than Nina Hagen's version. Now that really is shit.

  • @BereftlyObsequious Don't fuck with the Original.

  • @MrUnclepeanuts It was already a 19 year old song when this was recorded

  • @BereftlyObsequious The Sinatra recording is obviously also a cover because this song was already nearly 20 years old when this was recorded; it's from a 1937 Broadway show and you obviously didn't know this and neither do all the idiots that gave you the "thumbs up."

  • @BereftlyObsequious Sinatra's version is also a cover; the song was 19 years old when this record was made; Lena Horne could be said to be the one that made it hugely popular in a 1948 film about the two songwriters lives.

  • Lol how all of you are bringing Gaga into this.
