  • It is a DVD of various miniature railways & the Poole bit is only about a minute long.

  • I found a DVD that shows the railway in 1963 in colour & says the steam engine was called "Vanguard" & was green.

    Apart from the steam engine & the fashions, the railway & the park has remained fairly unchanged for 40 years.

  • I remember the steam engine,that name rings a bell.

  • I am now fairly certain that the engine was sadly scrapped, along with others of the Southern Minature Railway.

    But if anyone knows different.....

  • Yes we used to go there alot in the late 60's and 70's,the steam engine is a very early memory for me,it was followed by a blue "diesel"I think with a ford anglia or cortina engine and yellow chevrons on both ends..
