in Lisbon Airport they used to have some sort of shotguns in order to get rid of the birds. also, a few years ago, there were some hawks in the airport in order to hunt for the birds.

He sounds Portuguese, which can sound (phonetically) a bit like Russian. Most english native speakers sound drunk or like someone who's had a stroke when speaking Portuguese, unable to pronounce the sounds clearly. As a side-note, Portuguese is way more complex both phonetically and grammatically than English.
