super monkey ball on the wii was such a dick move. the first few monkey balls were so great that most kids were suckered into buying the wii version and boy does it suck. from numerous but terrible minigames to having the monkey ball mode limited to only one player instead of the past games using challenge mode to play against friends. and they made it so the only way to move ur char. was by tilting the wiimote= bad controls/can't play for more than 20 minutes or else ur arm will hurt like hell.

Also why would you think a video game system, whose primary method of control is motion sensing would give you an option to douche out and use an analog in Monkey Ball?

The Minigames suck, but the core Monkey Ball game in the Wii version is solid and just as good as past installments.

well obviously you haven't played the game. it's not the weight of the wiimote that bothers me, it's how they make you use it. I can play wii sports for hours, this, not so long. Basically, it works your wrist in very uncomfortable positions and the sensitivity is really awkward. tilting the wiimote slightly forward will do nothing, but to move forward you have to almost make your wiimote vertical while holding the bottom of the wiimote. then back vertically all in front of the sensor bar ouch!

Then they added a jump button. The past few games were great without a jump button and in the beginning, i thought, hmm that's pretty innovative and it'll add a lot of challenges and puzzles to the game. however, the jump button isn't just there to heighten gameplay and puzzles, it's absolutely necessary for levels after the first few levels completely changing the gameplay from the past games. And aiming your jumps with the terrible controls is VERY stressful mentally and physically on the hand

Oh, and the minigames were a core area for the previous games. I've been playing monkey targets/bowling/tennis with my friends for years and to have those replaced with 50shitty (about 3 are worth playing) minigames is a joke. Essentially, there's is no multiplayer in this game and that kills its longevity in my opinion since the since the single player experience is so dull.

It does, doesn't it? I'm surprised on how the art style of a WII GAME was ported to an iPhone game. Sure, the polygons were probably down-scaled, but it's still an amazing feat. It doesn't help that the exact same music from Banana Blitz is also used in the iPhone version.
