@sushantwadhera - RAM means "Parmaatma De Naam Wich Ramya Hoya" (Anyone who's completed lost in Almighty) .... So in Gurbani Ram in almost all places is referred to anyone whose completed lost in the name of "Parmatma" & not's the one so called RAM in Ramayana....For example, if today your name is sushant it doesn't mean you have only been person with this name uptil now. Hinduism has been so much remixed that there's no proof of it's purity & is fictitious....

Sikhs are not Hindu and they were never. The teaching of Sikhisam came from Hinduism and Islam both. Gurunanakji was born to a hindu, but he was not satisfied by His father's faith. He decided to find His own faith. Hinduism is indebted to Sikhism because Sikhism protected hindus in there black era of persecution and exploitation. Sikhism is indebted to Hinduism because it did not give hardship to Gurunanakji after His disapproval of Hinduism and let Him create His own faith and even spread it.

Guru Nanak Dev Ji came from a hindu background : jesus came from a jewish background ,

Guru Nanak Dev Ji was the 1st Sikh : jesus was the 1st christian ,

Guru Nanak Dev Ji's disciples are Sikh not hindoo : christians are christian not jewish.

Conversion is still conversion, no matter how it's done...by force or by giving amrit. The video clearly admits he was converted, using words like, "He became a Sikh". He is shown in the khalsa dress AFTER being given amrit.

If Baba Banda Singh was already a Sikh, why would Guru Gobind Singh have to give him the 5 kakaars and keshki?

Sikhism didn't just sprout out of nothing. It came out of the need to protect Hindus from being converted to Islam.

My point is that Sikhism came from Hinduism. I'm not saying it IS Hinduism. There's a difference. Just as you came from your parents and are a separate entity, so do some religions come from other religions. Most religions are born from discontent (with what existed then) and some are born out of a mix of ideas and introspection.

Now, just because you want a separate country, it doesn't change the fact that Sikhism came into being to address forced conversions to Islam.

Not all Hindus have a thread ceremony, nor do all Hindus perform all or most of the rituals that Brahmins might. It seems you don't know history or religion to speak informatively/ knowledgeably about it. As for race, go look up the definition in the dictionary before claiming you're different.

Very informative..just watched the whole video. I am glad being eduated abroad I was not brainwashed into what many of my Indian friends in India "think" is Sikhism. More Sikhs in Punjab have forgotten the basic foundation of Sikhi and it's really the government's education system which is erasing history and creating its own.

madsense68 - Christ was born a Jew and died a Jew. It is only his followers who are called Christian. And if Sikhism comes from Hinduism, there's no shame in admitting it. No one is converting Sikhs to become Hindu.

Not only that, Sikhism has mention of Hindu god and goddesses, some of the same rituals and also culture. Buddhism and Jainism also came from Hinduism...we don't hear from them that anyone is trying to deny them their difference. Why do Sikhs then deny their history?

Was jesus not BAPTISED by john the baptist ? He sure wasn't entering the jewish faith when that happened. Guru Gobind Singh Ji was baptised into the Khalsa likewise. So jesus' history was jewish but he was a christian. Guru Nanak Dev Ji's was the first Sikh and yes his history was different from the religion that he founded. Who are you to tell me or ANY Sikh, for that matter, what our identity is? Sikhism has been around for 100s of years and Sikhs like myself will make sure it continues.
