To my knowledge all of the Idols who go out on tour under the American Idol banner are under contract for an unspecified number albums. This means that even though Adam did not win, he's still going to be controlled by American Idol for at least one album; the same goes for Gokey, Allison, and the other finalists.

well here is how it goes they are under contract to 19 media until the end of the tour than at which time 19 has the first option to sign and the artist must sign with 19 even if they get other offers if 19 does not want them then they are free to go elsewhere
