hilda has always been my favorite character and stills remains my favorite character to this day, and i hate that she died. however, i suppose i should be glad that they gave her a 'kinder' death than what she got in the manga. in the manga, she shoots gene multiple times, almost killing him, she then shoots jim in the leg, then when gene reappears again she shoots his arm off, this time though he presses a detnator that kills her.

@KingCommando32 I won't spoil anymore for you in case that you are interested in seeing the manga, but I should tell you know that the manga is not translated in english so I have no idea of what they are even saying in it. however, you will still be surprised at the differences from that and the anime.

@Momentum139 there are some differences between the anime and manga in terms of story, but then there are events which occured in the anime that happened at a slightly different time in the manga. For example, the tall pirate we all know got it in the first episode during the chase sequence, well in the manga their encounter with the pirates didn't happen until after gene and hilda had their night at the motel.

I remember Hilda was the first character that I saw when I first turned on Outlaw Star. It was after she had just shot Gene and Jim was going to his aid when Hilda stopped him. After that I wanted to see more of this show was about and so I tuned in that was of course until Hilda was tragically killed. Sometimes I wonder how much more badass the series would had been had Hilda never died, it would have been awesome!
