@williambrodie Wow, you really have some learning to do. Sigma may make many budget lenses - but so do "Conon" and Nikon. All three also make high quality lenses, Sigmas EX series are very much up to par with Canon or Nikon HQ lenses. Only Sigma though, use Foveon sensors - which rock the living crap out of Bayer sensors used by all others.
@MC68EC040 I wasn't planning on people taking my comment seriously... if theyre seling something it's because people are buying it... but to counterpoint - The only lenses I've ever used where I've been shocked at the quality of the image (Heavy vigneting, huge thick chromatic aborations and very soft pictures) have all been Sigma - and although some of canons lenses arn't great, none of them have made me do a double take at the pic iv taken. Different minimum standards
I have an SD9, SD10 and SD14, and once the SD15 reaches a sensible used price I will have one of these too. As a long standing lover and user of film for home development I would never use a Bayer based camera. Sigma cameras are quirky (even my film days were with the SA7 and SA9) and take some getting used to, but once you know your way around them, nothing compares with the natural results you can achieve.
My first step into photography was with a nikon d60, I've learned everything about bayer sensors, mtf, aliasing, interpolation etc with her and I definitely don't wanna keep shooting with those sensors anymore (exception, medium/large format cameras). I need this camera!
Suckers ... all independent test show that SD14 and SD15 make excellent quality prints, way better than Nikon D3. I've tested many cameras and only Nikon D3x and higher MP cameras like Hasselblad out perform SD14/15. That's because you get accurate colors, and printers have limitations on how many gazillions MP they can reproduce. So, if you are shooting 24mp sensors, you better have a 24mp printer that can actually reproduce them on prints, otherwise ... Sigma is great.
like the reflection of the CANON brand in the first seconds
I think Sigma will never get it, their cameras are slow and outdated before they reach the market, their lenses are ok but who needs a 18-200000mm zoom
