hi, my friend is looking for a horse and i own one and since she has seen how excellent they are, she wants to get one... were do u get them for free???
go to the closest race track and post an ad on a wall saying what you want...or just ask around people are always looking for people to take there "done racing" horses. Just make sure it is sound for riding!
I've had 3 retired Standardbreds, all lived into their 30's! My last one is now 34! Had to teach 2 of them how to trot and they're were all pacers LOL Neither learned how to canter haha! They're an awesome breed, its wonderful to see someone putting them out there as well. Rock on! Your horse is lovely!
i hav a sb his names bazz xpacer his gotten a bit lazy lol but its prob cz were not able 2 ride him that much only cz wefond at from de trainer dat hes never been ridn befor lolish
I have two standardbreds and one 2 year old arab. I trained my standardbred gelding, who I have had since he was born, to Training level 1. He got a 63.3% last year as a 5 year old! My mare, my geldings mom, I retrained for dressage at age 9 and she does well too. I am glad I am not the only one doing this w/ their standardbreds! Lets get the word out!
gorgeous! i own a darkbay sb aswell! hes 16.3hh 8yrs and i named him major marshall(LOL) im waiting for his reg. papers as i got him just last week!(hes my first ever horse)-good job on the dressage sb's RULE!
I have two horses, one is a sb and the other is a welsh mountain pony. Everyone who comments on my vid always say they like laddie the best (hes my sb) and the ones who comment about tussock (welsh) really only like her for her colour lol! (palomino)
I think its really awesome to see Standardbreds out competing in dressage! Or any discipline. It really made me smile watching you and Pepper (gosh I hope I've got the name right) doing your test.
Nice work. His coloring reminds me so much of my standardbred lol. Whats his pedigree?
Mine was a pacer.I taught mine to canter & jump(not a lot tho). Now I'm working on more dressage & some reining...

My mare was a pacer too but she don't pace anymore and my last standi loved to pace so I taught him to Gait but he trotted as well.

hello, Did this horse pace befor ?? I have a std bred who paces regularly - just wondering if there is hope of doing dressage ?

hey, we have one to. try lots and lots of trot poles! Eventually your horse will learn to trot. Ours trots now regualarly.

If you ever want a horse to stop pacing all you do is trot them up a large hill
its impossible for the horse to pace uphill therefore the horse wil start trotting do that a few times and he will find trotting easier

Thats awesome. Standardbreds are so under-rated.
