  • I have just read of Petr Pestov and his passing away. I have always admired his pupils like Tsizkaridze, Malakhov, Ratmansky and many others at the Bolshoi Ballet. Among his successful last dancers in Stuttgart were the Kozadayev twins, Jorge Nozal of NDT and more recently outstanding McKie. There are also young students that have emerged like Camargo and Volpi. A great talent like Messerer, Puschkin and Stanley Williams. Great that teachers like Ilya Kodudayev can continue his intentions.

  • @GuillemLover Yes. He teached many stars including Mukhamedov too! Everybody just knows about Malakhov, Tsiskaridze, Mckie, Ratmansky because they are international. Pestov is famous in Russia because he also made his students read books and go to art galleries and museums and test them later about it. Thats why his students know lot about art and dance history and stay passionite about ballet. I think you maybe mean Ilya Kuznetsov is continuing his intentions. :)

  • This is the way i usually work with my students and the way i was taught in Cuba; i know no other formula than this to improve and become a real dancer. After 8 months of hard work the results are incredible.

  • @tingotilingo

    THANK YOU VERY MUCH

YOU ARE THE FIRST HERE WHO UNDERSTANDS US....

  • i wishh my teachers paid such close attention and spent so much time on all the small details like this with mee!! this is why russian dancers are the topssss!!!!

  • hey do they wear a dancebelt and support cup underneath their footed tights ?

  • @oufc29 most men wear dance belts

  • Дааа!! Узнаю ПЕТРА АНТОНЫЧА

    В этом он ВЕСЬ!!!

  • What he is saying and the way he is saying it is a beautiful art. It IS torment but he calls it 'dark work' that one must love and go through to become the become the best dancer he/she can be.

  • Its a typical pestov training. i saw this training 12 years. every day

  • I wish, I knew what they were saying!

  • Hey guys

I am in need of some help.

I have to write a paper on becoming a dance teacher can anyone help me please

    :)

  • man I just dont belive you - what the ... you are writing on Pestovs teach art! He is the best teacher ever in Ballet history. So just watch - try to understand what he says.

I study 2 years with him and still remember his worts like yesterday.

  • simplemove777, the fact that there are only two boys in class taking the class is telling you something? So much about a tendu? No wonder jose limon began a technique away from all that rigid fifth position that totally hurts your knees.

  • You are confusing being demanding with torment. Pestov is an awesome teacher and his students love him. Comparing Limon's technique to classical ballet is comparing veggies and fruits. Both are good but very different.

  • He used to work in Bolshoi ballet Academy and under his direction graduated more then 150 boys (now mostly principal dancers)/ This days he works in Stuttgard.

  • He is also the teacher of Nikolai Tsiskaridze, superstar of the Bolshoi

  • Last summer, Moscow

  • what is he talking about?

  • Very interesting! Where and when was this film shot?
