this film deserved the World Cinema Cinematography Award at Sundance I really loved it along with The Lie (bitly .com/ul70sA) that screened in 2010 at Sundance. I liked the theme both films portrayed.
The only thing that irritated me about this film was the vacuous teenage girl who got texts about going to a disco. Seen at 01:42. My god what an irritating voice, sorry to troll abuse but seriously, I had to put her on mute.
Please, please, please release this film in the States! I saw it at a film festival in London last year, and not only did I absolutely love it, I told all of my friends about what a moving and powerful film it is. Even a DVD in the States would be much appreciated. This film is the most beautifully told story of Irish women I've seen. Truly. Thank you for making it.

I think it is wonderful idea that shows how nice is to be with someone because of when you have ( believe me even you think is nice, it isn't). nothing is easy nowday and it isnt nice to give up just because it isnt easy even you are by yourself. it is nice to see different ages all together and then as some people said it is nice to be loved ( if is ur dad -son-boyfriend or husband or animal)
yes i agree some marriages really do work this is proof of that but they work very hard at them and sacrifice a lot to be together.. i can understand how people whose marriages didnt work might find it a hard watch as they too worked very hard and things didnt work out.. it shouldn’t take away from the fact that you dont have to be in a relationship or marriage to appreciate someone or find them annoying haha this film just concentrates on marriage so good for them it looks really funny!! :D
I find this film very "romantic" in that it paints an unrealistic but pretty picture. Marriages are breaking down all around; single parenthood is a growing trend, and Ireland and Irish marriages are not as wholesome (or white) as this film presents it to be.
@disparatehousewife I think that's a good point. But if you don't want this movie to creep inside you and see how beautiful thousands of marriages actually are, it's your loss completely. The race issue is a good point also but we're a very traditional nation and you can't forget about how old fashioned and romantic we are. And also I'm sick to my fucking teeth of seeing depressing shit day in/day out on the news/net etc. We're fukin due some joy! Can't wait to watch this movie :)
