The Ninja EX500R is NOT Ugly! I got an '07 Yellow/Black one, and its awesome! Great mileage, I have done a bunch of stuff to it too! LOVE this bike! Yes it is my first.

its such a great honest motorcycle. is soo good. i just wish it looked prettier at some angles... also, the drivetrain, everytihng is like a bigger 250, talk about techs having to learn less to get the bike serviced faster!

You are right, it is ugly....but....its not about the look with this bike. Iam a proud owner of an 08 ex500 and i love the way it handles and it has plenty of power especially for a 1st time rider, and...after a few mods. the bike really dont look half bad.

It's not Ugly but it ain't pretty either. I remember when they first came out in 1986 I think it was. They have made improvements but same basic rig.

I have 650R and LOVE IT. Sometimes I miss the 4cylinder thing, but not so much that I would want to sell it.

@catchsu11 I don't think its an ugly bike at all. I think it looks great. I bet it's also one of the most fun motorcycles ever too. I'm gonna get one before I join the military and if I don't, once I'm in and have enough money, I will get a 636 ninja.

09 Ninja 650r about the same power but isn't as butt ugly as that bike ^_^ I wouldn't get the best bike in the world if it was ugly. Just how I am. I like to see beautiful bikes cruisin donw the road, If I saw that I'd probably puke :/ Just my opinion.

it kinda looks like old bikes in the 80's and early 90's... they should really think abou tthat...heck even the 250r looks like a racing bike now :o

yeah im gonna get a 250 as a started to practice with when i get my permit, and ill give that to my friend after 2 months cus he'll turn 18 2 months after me; so even if i buy a new one out of state all i have to do is drive it like 7k then register it as "used" :P

I have an 09 ex500, blue also and I love it. I've already gone on two long trips with it and it's handled them perfectly. I even got to put in on some dirt roads.
