NPH is such a fucking fantastic actor it's beyond belief. God damn. I mean this scene is plain idiotic, but the conviction with which he pulls it off is astonishing. A real actor.

It's also quite daunting to consider with what ease NPH could sidetrack a real police investigation if he wanted. :)

They do it all the time. xD It's a common trick of interrogation, they just planted a few ideas in his head and led him in a certain direction to see if he'd take the bait, and he did. He had no idea that they knew all along when the bruise occurred, he didn't even know, he just based his lie off of what they were saying and that's how they caught him.

NPH breaks my heart in this episode. He is so talented, it's frightening. I couldn't believe how much I bought into his lonely, socially-awkward murderer on this show after seeing him in things like How I Met Your Mother. Complete character 180. Incredible.

Neil Patrick Harris, what can you say? he is so underrated it is almost maddening. he can do ANYTHING. his facial expressions alone in this are gripping. even as Doogie you could tell he was a special talent. he just has IT.  why wasn't this nominated for best guest appearance in a drama for an emmy? maybe too late for entry. he needs to be recognized. i once saw Martin Short in a role like this too on Law and Order...fantastic. and thumbs up to Vincent D
