  • I need a napkin!

or a new pair of pants

  • Viva Doors

  • at the beginning, it sounds like the spanish guitar song, leyenda by the composer albenez

  • its the same song named "asturias leyenda".at least at the begining

  • hi, does anybody know the musical instruments played here? and what's that noise towards the end, sounding like air?

  • i want to say it's some type of gong or cymbal with a production trick or two thrown in with it.

  • the doors are amazing!!! lyrically, and instrumentally; just unbelievable!!!!!!

  • Take me to Portugal :D

  • it reminds me of a ship crossing the ocean, then it runs into a storm and ...chaos

  • VIVA ESPAÑA!

  • One of my personal favs from The Doors.

    Classical guitar influenced...

    A little 'masterpiece'

  • Happy new year!

  • ever get really baked and just chill out to this song, it rulz

  • earlier i was reading that flamenco style migrated into spain, andalusia, with the gypsy-indians.

    fyi.

  • By far one of the finest tracks from the doors

  • ...reminds me of my days in the Navy, sailing the north Atlantic. Got to visit both countries-Portugal and Spain!

  • some ghostly

  • Who Cares about Guitar Hero, now all the people hears a song and says... GUITAR HERO, DLC NAO.

Well, im not going to talk about that now.

This songs puts me so nostalgic u.ú. Epic Intro

  • acctually probably wouldnt be that hard onb guitar hero. through the fire and flames on hard isnt really to hard

(for me) so this would be fun, cuz it would be all hammer ons

  • Today is my birthday.

  • happy birthday.

  • happy birthday

  • just imagine how hard this song would be on guitar hero (well, just the intro)

  • The intro is Asturias from Suite Española by Isaac Albeniz. An interesting thing to note is that Asturias is an Atlantic region, as one might say Portugal is, but Asturias itself (the piece) is written in an Andalusian Flamenco style, itself also mentioned in the song. I just feel that this truly lends a "caravan" feel to the song.

  • omg, rly! i hope theyll put it in some later versions...

  • damn that song i good thank u

  • I just want to mention something. The song is great but it isn't theirs. And it was very cheap of them not mentioning it.Type ASTURIAS in your search please.Thank you.

  • Who cares it's a good song. Thank you.

  • Actually it is they just kinda took some parts of another song to make the intro

  • It'd be easy to draw a direct line from The Doors to bands like the Bunnymen and JD. The influence is quite apparent at times. It's no surprise that a lot of the post punk bands were so influenced by The Doors. They were so amazing.

  • i love this

  • nice

  • no doubt that this song is amazing. the video on the other hand is very lacking in relation to the song. maybe if the images had focused on the album containing the song, or perhaps have the pictures moving in time with the song. even the ken burns effect would have been sufficient. sorry. song rocked, video did not.

  • show, é sem comentarios!!!

  • "Oh, Spanish caravan take me away, take me to Portugal take me to Spain, Analusia with fieds made of grain, i have to see you again and again.

Take me Spanish caravan, yes i know you can

Trade winds find Galeons(it is a form of large distance travelling ship) lost in the sea, i know where treasure is waiting for me, golden and silver the mountains of Spain, i have to see you again and again"

My initial estimation is that the chords are Dm/C/A and the introduction is Asturias by Isaac Albeniz.

  • Well, then you'd be correct!

  • did u ever notice on the l.a women album ray looks like john lennon

  • not really. they wear different types of glasses and different face shapes

  • But apart from that (and different sex ... :-P )

  • this is why i love the doors; they conformed to no single genre of music and instead made their own unique style out of many others.

  • "take me to Portugal take me to Spain" yes, JIM

  • Love.

  • i love this song!!!

    totally classic doors!!

    R.I.P JIM MORRISON

  • Larga vida al Rey Lagarto!

  • Me encanta esta cancion, ¡Larga vida a los Doors!

  • I used to love playing this on the piano...alas, I lost the music and I being no musical goodie can't figure it out! Phoey

  • Trade winds find Galleons

    Lost in the sea.

    I know where treasure

    Is waiting for me.

    Silver and gold

    In the mountains of Spain,

    I have to see you

    Again and again.

    Take me, Spanish caravan.

    Yes, I know you can.

  • yeah my friend

  • The "official" lyrics are "I know where treasures / Is waiting for me", but it does sound like he sung "treasure" and there is also "Andalusia / With fields of grain" which I didn't know.

  • todays groups dont compare to this genious

  • Whoa, this brings back memories.

  • Very nice job! I've never been a big fan of "The Doors" but this is one of my few favorites from them. I added this to my 'faorites' list.

  • OMG!!!!my guitar class gotta do this for a concert on the 29!!cool!!

  • one of the doors best

  • Take me to Portugal, take me to Spain...

Those who discovered the new world... Home of the REAL brave. RIP Jim

  • masterpiece

  • yeah this is my favorite doors song

  • explain

  • It's not a rip off from Asturias, it's a song composed around Asturias. Morrison and the rest of the band conceptualized Spanish Caravan around the song Asturias as a tribute.

For those who don't know, Asturias is a classic guitar song with native roots in Spanish phrygian music.

  • which by the way was written to piano

i like the doors version better :)

  • yeah, it took me more than a second to rate your video so i didn't...

  • vitality

  • the guitar on this song is epic..

  • asturias de isaac albéniz!

  • Jims fucking dead?! What?!

  • hjahah yeah he is

  • no he isn't :(

  • yea he kinda died in paris in a long time ago, supposedly a drug overdose of heroin, but theres a LOT of rumors and shit he faked his own death and lived out somewhere else for a long time, believe what u want. yea it does have an intro like isaac albeniz - asturia but i wouldnt say stolen so dont bitch at robby kreiger, awesome guitarist and think of this as an ode

  • does robby play an 12 string guitar in this song ???

  • Robby is an amazing guitarist great song to

  • Yah its very similar to Asturias.. from 29 secs on..

  • The intro of this song is almost the same of the song asturias from andres segovia, anyway, this song is great, one of the best doors songs

  • The song is not from Segovia, but from Isaac Albeniz. Segovia just played the song, originally written for piano, on the guitar.

    Anyway, nice song!

  • Segovia wrote that song

  • No, Asturias was composed by Albeniz, transcribed for guitar by Tarrega, played (beautifully) by Segovia, and emulated here by Robby Krieger.

  • really?? I used to believe that segovia wrote it :S

  • I love this song, and the montage.

  • i wanna learn how to play this song on guitar, but its gonna be hard as hell

  • I hear some Andres Segovia here, La Leyenda yeah?

  • I need to go to Spain like right now !!

  • Personally, I like seeing all of these old images...it's called a MONTAGE`...A moving image show, and YouTube is LOADED with them. Look under film and animation. LOVE this version of this song...and thanks for the visual treat. :-)

  • wonderful song. tremendous talent on the guitar. however, YouTube is for movies, not slide shows. just some friendly criticism.

  • Youtube is for VIDEOS. This? Is a video. Show me where in the Terms of Use slideshows are prohibited, please.

  • it's not prohibited, it's just suggested. if you had made a VIDEO, i think it would be better was all i was saying. i wasn't trying to offend you or anything.

  • develish!

  • Bellissimo video 5*****

  • I will be honest... I had not heard this song before this weekend. Yes, I know that is very sad, I am sorry that I hadn't!

I saw it at the beggining of the Catalunya Spanish Formula One (F1) Grand Prix race. It was the opening song while they showed scenes of Spain.

I have been to Spain and Portugal (lots of other places, but none as magical as Spain!)

So now I completely "get it" with Jim Morrison and the lyrics to this song.

    Mystical.
