In the world of competitive eating, Joey Chestnut IS an American hero. Why? He won the belt from arguably the greatest competitive eater of all time in Takeru Kobayashi in 2007, who used to win this competition 6-straight times, and ended Japanese dominance in this contest where they won 9 out of the last 10 contests since 1997.
