For a tiny hole like that? Meh, I'm not convinced. I'd have that hole patched in about 2 minutes or I'd be fired. Wouldn't have time to pull a bunch of clips out of my pocket.
I will say this, I like that you can use scrap to fix the hole.
I will have to try the bear claw. I like the idea that it aligns the surface of the patch with the surface of the surrounding wall, although I have not had a problem with the style that aligns the back of the drywall materials. My concern with the bear claw is the tab that is on the surface. Does it creat a bump under the tape? If not then it may be worth using.
Anyone ever hear of a hot patch. Damn i wouldn't do all that work for a whole less than three inches in diameter.

Most plaster board , or "gib" board as we call it, is 9.5mm thick.

As the tabs are wafer thin it's not a problem, everyone is starting to use these.
