  • Just shows how well there maintained

  • My Lordz!

  • Can't beat "chewing on" un-burnt diesel!!! long live these monsters of clag and let them give the "2 fingers salute" to Greenpeace!!!

  • do you have diesel locomotive in service now?

  • It's the "Clag" monster

  • Now thats what i call a locomotive!

R.I.P the old tractors they will never be forgotten.

  • at 0:52 did you get the number of the parcels 47

  • I live in crewe

  • @UncontrollableTechno

Bet you can't stop inhaling !

-Enviromentalist types call this "Clagtrocious / Clagtrocity"

-Personally, Diesel fumes get me higher than the finest cannabis.

-I can't get enough rich, aromatic clag !

    Class 37's are real beauties.

    -Distinct & original.

  • @guthywoodry Enjoy your lung cancer.

  • I more of a steam guy myself but I do love the Class 37s as they are so distinct

  • clag monster

  • This'll be why they replaced them with newer and better engines.

  • lets just hope an enviornmentalist doesnt see this or else they with throw a hissy fit

  • that smoke cloak is pretty effective.

  • "Holy Smoke!"

  • Napier Deltic.

  • Who needs a steam engine when you can have a "Whistling Giant" 37?

  • for every litre of diesel burned, several more go up the stack as smoke. CLAG MONSTER!!

  • Love these older locos. The 37's and the 56's are great!

    Gotta love all that smoke!!!

  • Ha Ha they brought out diesels to take over from steamers to cut pollution, Love it 5*

  • i belive at the time when 37712 was in sevice it had a turbo fault casing the thick black exhaust smoke

  • Why are these engines getting overfueled ?

I can understand this on cold start but not when accelerating from idle speed.

    Bill

  • Old/no technology, when the engineer switch the notch handle up, inside the engine there is a dwarf with a bucket who pours diesel inside the cylinders. :-))

  • great video mate 5stars and fav

  • u must get that deeling that ur annoying bil oddie and eco friendly people with this loco......im not complaining i like the plumes 5 *s

  • Don't tell Al Gore (how ever you spell it!)

    Great video, nice diesel noise.

  • Very nice shot 5*+favorit

  • doesn't even look like it's been IN the shop yet..

  • just a lil extra fuel

  • Im not conplaining :)

  • Now thats gassy! (if you know what i mean lol)

  • Anyone got a pair of turbos for a 37!!. They dont like running on that veg oil!!

  • Dont think they worry about going green.

  • 0:55 abra cadabra let me cover my trai friends in sut

  • Wow, nice footage :)

its cool. 0:44 was pretty funny haha :D

    5 star :)

    \/\

  • Crushed walnuts or hot water injection is used in heavy fuel marine applications on a turbo wash, but have never heard of railroads doing this. Best cure is a(are) new turbo(s).

  • Yes... '712 has been very unwell recently... a large and impressively damaged part of 712's engine is on my kitchen table... she's much better now...

  • It's been a tad unwell again recently when it comes to its smoking engine...

  • Black smoke, anybody turned the fuel pump down ?? Looks like a bad case of overfueling. Or simply a knackered engine, as most of you point out :)

  • dang talking about getting a new engine

  • Still think the best one for throwing black smoke and flames was 37427 with 37175 a close second. I remember a run departing Neath up the hill on a Sunday train where 427 slipped in heavy rain, the sky went black and then followed by a second slip with a lovely pair of flames out of the exhaust... Full of dread....

  • I pronounce the A honerery steam loco.

  • How does it do that?

  • Its turbocharger was knackered if I remember rightly. Either that or the intercooler was knackered.

  • @tutankahmun Turbo most likely

  • @tutankahmun I may not know trains but i have a good idea with diesel engines and that looks like a shot turbocharger to me!

  • @Cafferssss I thought it might be the turbo. I saw a loco of the same type which had a problem with the intercooler and it produced similar effects - albeit not quite as bad.

  • @billybadbrakes All that's needed is a better grade of coal .....

  • Nice loco, check out my fotopic adress as directed on my homepage!

  • I recon you are right when you blame the Turbocharger,

Heavy, thick, sooty smoke, says no turbo input

thats years of neglect and no maintainance for ya

  • I wonder if it'll be the same with WCRC?!!

  • i hope so :P

  • No smoking on the platform please! Wonderful Video.

  • is that 37 a relation to a octopus and whats is it scared of???

  • scared of imminent withdrawal probably haha

  • whata beast eh!

  • wahey! noisy.

  • thats in britain...

  • Goodness, and I thought our Alcos were bad.

  • ooo that must be amercas new eco friendly train

  • Ace video.

  • Now for sale!!!

  • aren't railways supposed to be the greenest mode of transport, good old 37s doing what they do best.

  • In your FACE Greenpeace lol

  • @Bergstaller01 Couldnt agree more, they should park one outside a greenpeace members house and give the loco full throtle, LOL.

  • Clean, efficient, and FUCKING BRILLIANT - just as English Electric intended!!

  • awwa god! right stinkers they are! hehe!

  • i love class 37s i like there revs it sounds so cool

  • Alive and kicking!

  • Real Loco!!

  • fucking tractor filth! put them all in the bin!

  • why put them in the bin, never did BR any harm, they were useful those tractors!

  • remember me and our kid jumping on the cardiff train when the 008 used to shunt out the carriages and got the numbers from the sidings...class

  • CHRIST there is a 37 there bloody hell theres a nice colletion there, just goes to show theer not out of date yet

  • WOW!

  • that is the sign of a true diesel i think it needs some chrome pipes to go with that smoke

  • that 37 is alive and going!

  • not now it ain't...

  • So true :( Its alive just not going...

  • @tutankahmun aww why?

  • the driver must have love it giving it some cos the clad is sweet as you like........ fair shout ot him

  • great clip, open that 37 up, smoking

  • wow! I bet GE didn't make that loco...lol

  • You're right, 37712 was made by English Electric.

  • ouch get that fixed soon

looks like u need to put on a dpf (diesel particulate filter)

  • that was clagtastic mein frappestermierfurhur

  • that clag was fit for a king!

  • Great video, keep on smoking...

  • Blimey, that's quite some clag there! Good video dude.

  • Utterley fantastic!

  • we are not worthy !

  • is something wrong with that engine?

  • yes. During the time that clip was filmed the engine had a problem with its turbo charger. What was amazing was during the time, many locomotives of the same type with nothing wrong with them were being removed from traffic, yet the one in the clip was retained!!

  • Bloody hell...fire!

  • Environmentally unfriendly tractor clag!!

  • my lordzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

  • MY LORDZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZ,, its a rite beast!
