Yankees fans don't like getting thrown out of Yankee Stadium. Some are just really obnoxious fans. Best advise for any Sox fan is not to sit in the bleachers or upper deck. If u do you're just stirring up trouble
im sure your probably a fair guy, but u cant judge everything that happens at yankee stadium from your one experience. i've been at fenway many times and had morons throw their own drinks at me. why would u throw your own beer at me and miss, hitting other redsox fans, pointless. btw they got ejected. so it goes hand in hand. and i wear my ny colors proud. doesnt matter how suttle your colors are, your wearing something with red in yankee stadium, dude u stick out like a sore thumb
Well first and foremost every rival is gonna get heckled at a game one point or another in their life but the thing is we Yankees fans and just being raised in Jersey, we don't take shit lightly, especially when a rival team believes that we win championships on the dollar itself, we don't talk half as much shit as some Boston fans and whether its some keyboard warrior online or in person disrespecting a great team it stays with me throughout the season
I've been a Yankees fan since I was born. I've never went to a game in Boston, but I just wanted to take a moment to tell everyone that all Yankees fans aren't the way people make us seem. There are millions of great fans. The ones that get thrown out are the bandwagon/fairweather fans. There are a ton of losers, you just have to find the right fans. I respect the Red Sox and I'm sorry for your bad experience with idiot Yankee fans. We are not all about our rings, many truly love the game.
I'm a die hard Yankees fan & upon seeing a Red Sox fan at Yankee Stadium, of course I'll heckle them, but not to the extent to make them feel any more uncomfortable than they expected to, or to get myself thrown out. I don't really like how you're making it seem as if ALL Yankees fans are disrespectful & Red Sox fans are class acts. Cause I've been cursed out by a Sox fan IN Yankee Stadium & I'm a female.
@bburnandshiver I'm not saying that at all so I'm sorry if it came across that way. I said I was treated well. You wanna see crazy people?? I'm a Cowboys fan. Try wearing your team gear in Philadelphia and see what happens. I will never go to Eagles-'Boys in Philly again. Eagles fans are the absolute worst of all sports fans.
@bburnandshiver a man game? yes - a MAN's GAME! every sport is a man's game! because men and women arnt created equal! because men ARE physically superior!
Whats good with my name? I dont get you humour, but I tell you one thing, what is disgusting is the avatar on your profile ;)
@Ben7Roethlisberger lol sure, I'm sure you are. I'm actually not jewish, ugly or overweight! & for someone who knows 6 languages, you sure are massacring the English one
im a red sox fan but the rangers are my number 2 team so i went to rangers stadium in arlington one day they were playing the red sox so i wore my pedroia shirt i got a handful of nasty comments and jokes didnt get thrown out though luckily
@MrDSBXFinest seen. I miss the days when veterans who worked off with chemistry won more so then newbie old ass shitsters like Randy Johnson and Kevin Brown... They still paid a decent amount but not as much. I dont blame Torre for leaving.
I still love them at heart because of my childhood memories with my dad and living in New York. But honestly, theres a side of it thats been pissing me the fuck off.
@MrDSBXFinest Yea im sorry about that bro. I'm a hardcore yankees fan and I get pissed off when fellow fans start flaming like that. I've gotten into a couple of brawls at yankees games with my own kind.
I sympathize your situation, some yankee fans are dicks. And frankly, the Yankee's lately have been pissing me off. Clemens, Pettite, Arod, Giambi all on roids (like half the MLB...), having ridiculous contracts that exceed $200 mill, and literally making the most retarded pick ups I have ever
I'm a Yankee fan, but I realllly don't care who you root for. Half of my family loves Boston. (I live in Connecticut so it's usually one or the other) I even went to boston to see the city and ended up going to a Sox game, (not against the yanks). Fenway is a beautiful stadium in my opinion and it was a nice feeling to be in "Enemy Territory" hahah.
Part 10: Don't get me wrong, Yankee fans can be extremely belligerent when it come to the rivalry so I don't want to make it seem as though I think the Yankees fans are good and the Red Sox are bad because at the end of the days its still the most heated rivalry in North American sports and the hatred between the two teams is a two-way street. Thanks for letting me vent.
Part 9: Whereas if its a Red Sox fan going into a restaurant in Manhattan its like, well he's simply from out of town and people just go about their business as though he isn't there. I just think the Red Sox hatred for the Yankees is a little stronger then vice versa. But other then when the Yanks are playing the Sox, they care more about what their team is doing then those guys who play 200 miles to the north. (continued)
Part 8: down the street and no one would bother them unless the Yanks were playing Boston or if they just won the world series. Whereas I on the other hand, whenever I would go into a restaurant within a 100 mile radius of Boston people would immediately look at me as though I stepped into a VFW convention wearing a "death to America" t-shirt. Also, whenever I would go into public I would hear people snarl. (continued)
Part 7: It seems to me as though the Red Sox hate the Yankees because the Yankees were the reason they went so long without wining a world series. And from the Yankees prospective, it seems as though its like "well if you hates us fine, because we don't particularly care for you either." The reason why I say that is because when living in New York I would always see Red Sox fans walking (continued)
Part 6: The reason why I mention that is because I am one of the few who had the privilege of witnessing the rivalry from both prospectives. And I speak for no Yankee fan or Red Sox fan when saying this, and this is in no way based on the fact that I am a Yankee fan, but rather based solely on my personal prospective. It seems to me as though there is more animosity from the Red Sox prospective then there is from the Yankees prospective. (continued)
Part 5: The reason why I bring that up is because when I was still living in Boston, I came to school one day wearing my Yankee shirt not realizing that there was a field trip to Fenway Park scheduled (against the Royals). So once I got to the park, fans wasted no time heckling me. It even got to the point where I was instructed by my teacher to take the Jersey off and simply wear my undershirt out of fear that I would incite a riot!!! (continued)
Part 4: A couple of years later I attended a game at Yankee Stadium against the Rays. When I got to the train station in Newark, NJ, there were a couple hundred Yankee fans heading to the same place I was going. And swimming in that school of Yankee fans was one lonely Red Sox fan. NO ONE BOTHERED HIM!!! IT WAS AS THOUGH HE WASN'T EVEN THERE!!! When I got to the stadium, a few rows ahead a me sat a person wearing a Papelbon jersey. NO ONE BOTHERED HIM!!! (continued)
Part 3: Its one thing to clap and cheer when A-Rod puts one over the monster or when Papi puts one over the short porch in right, but to chant that the home team sucks is one of the cardinal sins in any sport ranging from the pros all the way down to high school. I would never have the nerve to chant "Boston Sucks" at Fenway Park and it kinda pissed me off (granted they were drunk) that the Red Sox fans couldn't show that same type of respect when they were at Yankee Stadium. (Continued)
A year later I attended a Yankees-Red Sox game at Yankee Stadium (old). I saw plenty of Red Sox fans (too many for my comfort may I add), and they certainly came prepared to root for their team. And for the most part we put up with it until a couple of drunk Sox fans a few rows behind me started chanting "Yankees Suck," at which point the home town fans really started to get irritated, and understandably so. (continued)
I'm a Yankee fan. In 2003, when I was going to school in Boston, I attended a Yankees-Red Sox game a Fenway Park. I wore my Yankee shirt and Yankee hat knowing full well the abuse I was going to take and did in fact wind up taking from the moment I boarded the "T." Although unlike some fans who get pissed off, I had fun with it. Fans shouted "Yankees suck" at me numerous times but at no point did anyone of them try to engage me in some type of physical or verbal altercation. (Continued)
I would wear my red sox gear, but be quiet, just cheer when the red sox do well, and maybe start a conversation with a yankee fan that isn't a jerk haha
Well it's gonna be a little different in the Subway series but I went to Yankee stadium twice for that.
