what i dont get is why was the catholic church founded by the same poeple who crucified him to begin with. then in the revelation in one of the bibles i have at home (modern english) when christ adresses the seven churches, he mentions how he opposes the "nicolaitans" but no translation is given to explain who the nicolaitans are. i looked it up. nicolaitans is a very loose translation (and clearly incomplete) that roughly means rulers/conquerers of the laity aka the clergy hierarchy.

Out of curiosity, how come Christianity is one of the youngest religions? I'm not saying God doesn't exist, but it doesn't make sense. Jesus, I've no doubt he was a man, but not a messiah, if he was he would have been Jesus of Bethlehem. If you're Jehovah's witness then why bother, Heaven's hit its max occupancy. Religion is a double bladed sword, on the one hand, it provides comfort and a sense of belonging as well as a close community, on the other it brainwashes most people.

It's by no means a bad thing, but on the same token, a lot of people seem to have forgotten common sense, logic, and intuition. It also conditions people to do only the right thing because if you don't you'll go to hell, which is wrong. You should be taught to do the right thing just because. Now I'm not atheist or agnostic, I'm actually Wiccan, or probably a heathen to most of you. And like most pagan/neo-pagan religions, Wicca does not believe in any pure evil or pure holy beings.

We don't believe in Satan or hell. Have any of you thought about how life went on before religion? Humans are animals, and more cruel and sadistic than most. We're wasteful, we're violent, and we don't help each other unless it benefits the self instead of the whole. The biggest logical reason for the beginning of religion is the fact that we are just animals. People refuse to believe that we are the same as the other animals. People think, "Oh we can think, we have society and law."

You are an animal, your whole purpose of life is keeping your species alive. Apes, dogs, dolphins, birds, They all have society, some know how to use tools, some speak to each other, most are almost as intelligent some more so than you'd think. However what you choose to believe is your own choice, but don't force your beliefs on those who don't wish them.

what i dont get is why was the catholic church founded by the same poeple who crucified him to begin with. then in the revelation in one of the bibles i have at home (modern english) when christ adresses the seven churches, he mentions how he opposes the "nicolaitans" but no translation is given to explain who the nicolaitans are. i looked it up. nicolaitans is a very loose translation (and clearly incomplete) that roughly means rulers/conquerers of the laity aka the clergy hierarchy.
