  • this is what will happen if the Illuminati(Ellumaneti),the Triad,Jesuits and the Freemasons continue to push their Saturnistic reign of terror.

  • Sanctimonious hippie crap.

  • muy buena cancion. excellent old song

  • Dustin Dollin is from 2525.

    SHAKE JUNT !

  • SHAKE JUNT SHAKE JUNT

  • Dollin represent SHAKE JUNT

  • I'm old enough to remember this song... we were so much more socially conscious then.

  • 2525? I'm guessing 2025...2125 at the latest...

  • @trancedsailor you are close to it ...I will be gone by then ....but !

  • it stirs the soul, makes ya think about the track were on. awesome sone then and now .

  • ...per S&G, "the words of t he prophets are written on subway walls...."

  • right on the money 10,000 years from now this song will still burn the soul with wake up calls. great song never tire of it,

  • SNAP!!!! Wait for it! ;)

    I kinda like it too!

Hey I think you told me that once...

  • Hey you! Remember this? It used to be played on the local radio station a lot. I kinda like it though the words are a little depressing. Sort of time travel but not backwards like we want. Hey did you know that a thousand years is as one day with God?!! :)

  • CLASSIC !!!!

  • "In the year 6565 . . . you'll pick you're baby from the bottom of a glass tube" . . . 2011 and we're there already

  • a great song and then I find out it was recored in Odessa. Tx...well that just made it better. I've always liked this song so I guess I probably knew it was recorded here, maybe thats why I've always like it.

  • @momsmoos this is true, I'am from Texas.

  • a great song and then I find out it was recored in Odessa. Tx...well that just made it better. I've always liked this song so I guess I probably knew it was recorded here, maybe thats why I've always like it.

  • how stoned did they need to get to write this ....

  • @KidVirtue Just as much as i am now wanting to watch this.

  • futurama:)

  • i still love this song, i hope to live until the year 2525.........

  • No time machine. Just some damn good sci fi writers.

Herbert, Asimov, Heinlein. Not even pushing the envelope.

  • Absolutely Timeless. A sample of this song was used in the Alien 3 movie.

  • Robert Edwards and Patrick Steptoe teamed up in 1968 and pioneered in vitro fertilisation, this song came out in 1969 - these guys were just well read. Science fact is often far more amazing than science fiction. Most the things they're singing about have or are likely to happen. Synthetic hormones in female birth control has been shown to affect a women’s desires etc due to increased/decreased sensitivity to smells, combine that with the use of scenting in shops to spending...

  • @hearseespeak01 ...mind control pill technology already exists – someone just needs to be unscrupulous enough to use it. Put this song into its historical context, 1969 saw man walk on the moon, the birth of the internet, Intel invented the first microprocessor, the first human eye transplant, Boeings 747-100 (the largest plane at the time) took flight, and IVF. No wonder They were cautious about how far everything might go, just as progress is important so is moderation and responsibility.

  • in the year 20/08 the US is so desprate they'll elect a silly socialist negro

in the year 2009 pelosi and the negro will make every american a medicaider

in the year 2010 the uncivilized negro will say that homos and lesbians are okay

in the year 2011 the economy will fall that what happens when you elect drudge

in the year 2012 the negro will be out and we say what the hell were we thinking

American the Empire is dead the black bastard gloats in pride b/c he has single handedly distryoed

  • @thincow12 ...I think if America is destroyed, it will be because ignorant, racist chuckleheads, ones who can't even spell simple words like, "destroyed" and/or use words and phrases such as, "American the Empire" (maybe you meant "The American Empire"?) or "medicaider", are going into the voting booth and pulling the lever...well, some of you...most of you will spend hours in a bathroom stall, or broom closet trying to figure out which button to push.

  • Most one-hit wonders had one great song... I hate this song... lol Sounds great but I hate the lyrics... goes through time too fast... by 1100 year leaps .... crazy shit... every decade has changes that are massive...nowadays.

  • Classic shit !!!

  • Pick your sons and daughters from the bottom of a long glass tube. Invitro fertitilization? This song was way ahead of time.

  • Lets start by getting through 2012 lol.....great song, reminds me of car rides with my pops............

  • Visionary tune.

  • The new Retirment age for Britain. If i was alive in the year 2525 like my son who will be dead by then. God bless Great Great Great Granchildren by then.

  • great song n many ways.

  • GUCKING BRILL

  • this song would have been well suited for fallout new vegas in many ways

  • Aye!

  • This was the song that played during the opening credits of the movie Gentlemen Bronco good movie great song

  • they knew something we didnt,,thats for sure..

  • What douchebags gave this a thumbs down?

  • @dirkstorm Couldn't agree more! Great song, prophetic words, visionary. Name one 'popular' song on the air today, March 27, 2011, that remotely sounds one sixteenth as good as this? One. Anybody???

  • 6565 already happens...

  • This is truely a good old long haired hippie song...

  • Funnily enough, as much as we listen to this song and fear the future; most of this has already been accomplished or will be in the foreseeable future.

  • Great Song,.... but way too many bands use this progression over the years ! still awesome !

  • Pay attention to the lyrics, these guys could be considered prophets. Look what lazy unintelligent slobs humanity has become already in 2011.

  • The Futurama version is better.

    Still, cool song.

  • @jewpiles Excellent point

  • So much abuse of the replay button <3

  • this song used to give me nightmares when it was played on top 40 radio.

  • The lyrics still make me think today.

    Timeless till 2525.

  • Badass song from an era long gone.

    Yet still relevant

    True measure of its brillance

  • @bradley364 All eras are gone! Kidding, but anyway, think about it.......some of these platitudes are unfolding as we (cyber) speak.......".What are your thoughts Hobson?...........................(Dudley Moore)

  • dont drug on this ,u may belive u can fly from 2005

    For 252500.00

  • @BlueSabb

LOL. I thought you were kidding, but it's true. That amount for that guitar.

  • mankind is enslaved by girraffe, man must pay for all his misdeeds when the treetops are stripped of their leaves,

  • in the year 105105, if man is still alive, if robot can survive, they may find

in the year 252525, the backwards time machine still wont have arrived, in all the world theres only one technology, a rusty sword for practicing proctology

in the future year that ends with a 20, a shlubby mermans gonna try to get chummy, he may look like a watery wimp, but hes really a blood thirsty shrimp

in the year one million and a half,

  • for all of those people who think this songs sucks you got a bad taste in music

  • Great song.

  • @imoehm this song sucks.... how log did it take for u to think that up? if u fink it sucks then jus go back to listening to justin beiber, its ok. we understand :-)

  • I think the reason people think this song is so scary is because the future is so uncertain.

  • @shadowseeker629

I THINK BECAUSE THEY THINK THE FUTURE IS HERE ALREADY ...! HOW FAR TO GO???

  • almost cryin in futurama when realised that we just nothing.

  • In the year 252525, the backwards time machine still will not have arrived...

  • at one point in the song they sing about choosing kids in a tube, i think they say its 4525..however this can be done now

  • @ Highest Rated Comments.

"A song ahead of its time" ... It did reach number one for 6 weeks when it came out. So unless you are saying it'll have more meaning as time passes, I don't get this comment.

  • This song was mind boggling at the time not so much now days. What insight these men had.It was absolutely haunting. No telling how many times the big bang has happened. Put that in your pipe and smoke it lol.

  • Esta musica merece atravessar todas as epocas, porque tudo que esta escrito em tua letra, serviu pra ontem, serve pra hoje e para o amanha

  • still love this acoustic rift this rocks to this day

  • Futurama

  • (in) a billion years.. i hope a machine will help me remember and bring a tear through my artificial tear ducting system ... when i find this again. :D i hope i have arms... of some implication to help me wipe them, then watch it again and again.

  • man;; what year was this made?

  • @purselady2 1969. Did you ever hear about Wikipedia for that sort of question?

  • this was used in the ending of tv show "Millenium" when the virus killed the whole world.

  • It's not the same without hearing "WABC! (Chime sound) All American!!" at the end

  • Damn, this takes me back!!! Thanks!

  • @violator79--Death and disease came to Earth because mankind (Adam and Eve) disobeyed God. Things have been messed up since. This is not the original plan.

It's not anything you did personnally or your family specifically, there is just sin in the world and these things happen because of it. the rain falls on the good and the bad.

God sent his Son Jesus to Earth so that we can have eternal life.

  • @co2isgoodal You are a moron. This isn't a forum for spewing forth your version of the truth.

Enjoy the good tunes and quit proselytizing.

  • @co2isgoodal To quote my idol George Carlin: "...well if it's God's will and He's gonna do what he wants to anyway, why the fuck bother praying in the first place?"

Show me the apple tree that Eve supposedly ate from or better yet, where's the ark that Noah had? Also, if Noah had sons, and they had kids, etc, every human that's ever lived is related. Also, where did all the languages come from? Further proof that the Bible is nothing but stories designed to scare and control people.

  • @violator79 the different languages is explained in Genesis 11:1-9, but here are the last 2 "8So the LORD scattered them abroad from thence upon the face of all the earth: and they left off to build the city. 9Therefore is the name of it called Babel; because the LORD did there confound the language of all the earth: and from thence did the LORD scatter them abroad upon the face of all the earth. "

  • @violator79 I don't specifically believe one way or another, but the questions you asked are explained in various parts of the Bible. I think God doesn't necessarily CAUSE something or STOP things... He lets them happen.... He is just omnipotent in seeing everything and people get to where they do bad things "in His name" or blame everything on Him.. I also haven't been too much on good terms with religion because of some harsh things in my life, but the specific examples you asked had answers.

  • @co2isgoodal according to your belief, mind you, not everyone on this planet shares your faith.

  • I'm surprised they ddn't mention the Gulf OIL pollution crisis in this song.

  • Apparently Zager dreamt this song in a sort of John Carpenter Prince of Drakness kind of way

  • after this giant hit, they disappered. What happened?

  • @momike99

they made a few more albums but no more songs made it to the top 40, so they split up, they now teach guitar and work in a uni

  • This is in my top 3 songs of all time.

  • The audience look well into it =)

  • First time I'm hearing it and I love it :)

  • this song depresses me! :(

  • Insightful.

  • Love this song.

  • Splendid song!

  • great classic, truth is stranger than fiction,

  • WOW! i just watched this after hearing it on a linkara vid and in the comments i find religous debate. what an interesting world we live in

  • Yes, that's what I thought. How did a classic song provoke raging comments like this? It's a song for 'God's" sake.Lol

  • omg u ppl!!!!! wtf idk u ppl start big stupid arguements damn its a fucking song it means what the hell u want it to geez just shut the hell up!!!

  • Out of curiosity, how come Christianity is one of the youngest religions? I'm not saying God doesn't exist, but it doesn't make sense. Jesus, I've no doubt he was a man, but not a messiah, if he was he would have been Jesus of Bethlehem. If you're Jehovah's witness then why bother, Heaven's hit its max occupancy. Religion is a double bladed sword, on the one hand, it provides comfort and a sense of belonging as well as a close community, on the other it brainwashes most people.

  • It's by no means a bad thing, but on the same token, a lot of people seem to have forgotten common sense, logic, and intuition. It also conditions people to do only the right thing because if you don't you'll go to hell, which is wrong. You should be taught to do the right thing just because. Now I'm not atheist or agnostic, I'm actually Wiccan, or probably a heathen to most of you. And like most pagan/neo-pagan religions, Wicca does not believe in any pure evil or pure holy beings.

  • We don't believe in Satan or hell. Have any of you thought about how life went on before religion? Humans are animals, and more cruel and sadistic than most. We're wasteful, we're violent, and we don't help each other unless it benefits the self instead of the whole. The biggest logical reason for the beginning of religion is the fact that we are just animals. People refuse to believe that we are the same as the other animals. People think, "Oh we can think, we have society and law."

  • "Oh we must have some greater reason for living than these unintelligent animals. So we must have some great reward at the end of our lives." You are an animal, your whole purpose of life is keeping your species alive. Apes, dogs, dolphins, birds, They all have society, some know how to use tools, some speak to each other, most are almost as intelligent some more so than you'd think. However what you choose to believe is your own choice, but don't force your beliefs on those who don't wish them.

  • we just got lucky that's it.Nothing more. The point of living is life. Religion is a taint on Humanity, what proof look at the last 4000 years of history or just the past 500

  • No, most do not believe in heaven or hell, but people believe aliens from halfway across the universe & who have nothing better to do than come to earth to draw crop circles, and in ghosts, do not forget ghosts, lol

  • what i dont get is why was the catholic church founded by the same poeple who crucified him to begin with. then in the revelation in one of the bibles i have at home (modern english) when christ adresses the seven churches, he mentions how he opposes the "nicolaitans" but no translation is given to explain who the nicolaitans are. i looked it up. nicolaitans is a very loose translation (and clearly incomplete) that roughly means rulers/conquerers of the laity aka the clergy hierarchy.

  • Einen Kurzurlaub für die Ohren !!!

  • @MrWasserkanone da kann ich dir nur zustimmen =)

  • moin, jezt wäre ne präzise übersetzung aber natürlich ein toller song

  • If that is what you believe, so be it, but do not criticize those who do. Our victory will be on judgement day. And what will you have? Thank God for the right to be able to say as you wish, because in othercountries, you would be killed for what you say.

  • you're so brainwashed that you have left your common sense... please read the bible.....jesus never existed there has never been proof of him... and i do believe in a "god" but in a smart god not your mythological god....
