  • bay city michigan has a fleet of about 30 of these of various ages. they all suck. sound like there ready to blow up. they shoulda kept the Orion 1s.

  • could be killer dow pin that engine needs over haul

  • one thing i like about the orion buses is how the drivers are sitting on top of the engine

  • Souunds like a steam engine when it idles down

  • They replaced these with 2009 eldorado ez rider 2 max buses

  • @MircomFan: Yes, I know that.

  • somethings tapping away there! not very healthy whatever it is

  • Im glad the ones we have got no back doors like a ambulance

  • Sounds like the older Blue Bird All American and the Ford B-800 using the Cummins ISB engine!

  • Orion 2's look like shuttle buses

  • Cleveland has these things and they are pieces of straight shit! Dayton, Ohio also uses these along with TANK of Northern Kentucky. Cleveland used to operate the first generation Orion IIs with the big supercharged 8.2 Liter International V8 diesel mated to an Allison AT545. I miss those buses.

  • That is not the 8.2 Liter International V8 Diesel, What you are talking about is the International 7.3 Liter V8 Diesel, Detroit Diesel has the V8 Diesel which is 8.2 Liter Detroit Diesel

  • coulda swore it was an 8.2 liter International. I know they sounded like bug low reving 454 V8s with a nice, whiney supercharger. A real throaty, deep, muscle car sounding exhaust note.

  • 454 is a V8 but Uses Gas. The sound is a Cummins 5.9 Diesel on to a Orion 2 Bus. If you hear the difference to the TTC Orion 2 Bus. That is the one different from the Orion 2 in LTC. The Cummins 5.9 Diesel have a Death Tick Like all other Detroit diesels do.

  • Yup! He mentioned the engine in his original caption on the video that you must've missed.

Very rare these days to find any video's of Orion II's.

  • Sounds like the first generation of Dennis Dart, is it using Cummins B-series engine??

  • It sure does use the 5.9.
