  • Pink...blue and grayish brown....does he know how to match?

  • in my college, fashion is important and the way we dress will always be one of the things people talk/ judge about. grrr. some goes to me when i see people wear something which dont suit them... please admin i wish to see more videos for college student :D

  • Thanks for this video you should make more. I am a university student and these tips are nice and more would be appreciated.

  • Could you please explain the kind of sweater you mean, or show an image of what you mean?

  • @atomaton4 Any dark or earth-tone sweater in a light wool works great, or you can go cotton for warmer weather. We've been trying to include more images and props in the more recent videos, to get away from the plain black background a bit.

  • Hey antonio! Great video I appreciate the fact that you actually spent effort on videos that specifically help us students because god knows we are the group that needs this help the most!

I am looking to get into my first internship position and in general I want to look sharp and feel sharp. Can you recommend some brands and also there is the company INDOCHINO that has been in the ads these days, what do you think of them?

  • @XiaMichaelX Be sure to check out our video on dressing for a job interview, then! I don't usually do product recommendations unless I'm reviewing them specifically, I'm afraid -- I'm in the clothing business myself, and it's bad form to talk about other people's products unless they've asked your opinion! But for starting out with job/internship searches you can't go wrong with a charcoal suit for interviews, and a nice blazer and slacks for on the job.

  • @RealMenRealStyle Thanks Antonio. Actually I want to up my game a bit and feel confident since I feel my life is progress along. Do you think it is appropriate for me to start wearing a suit everyday to work and while I travel? Of course other than for super casual occasions.

  • @XiaMichaelX There are work settings where I'd recommend against one, if it's going to be much more formal than everyone else (bosses in particular don't always like to be out-dressed). But socially a man can wear a casual suit if he feels like it. Something in a casual color, or with a pattern -- a "leisure suit" in the non-disco meaning of the word.

  • @RealMenRealStyle Thanks so much

  • What is your opinion on V neck shirts?

I think they look good with a good pair of trousers and casual or dress shoes. However, you're the expert and I am willing to change my mind if you think the opposite :P

    Thanks!

btw your videos are very informative!

  • @carlitoni Depends on the shirt. Some V-necks are meant to be undershirts, and they can look pretty cheap and sloppy worn as an outer layer. Others are nice, fitted pieces that go great with nice trousers and some stylish shoes. But it's not like they're a fashion no-fly zone or anything!

  • @RealMenRealStyle Thanks! :)

  • You seem like one badass gentleman

  • @Nastybeanlady Well thanks!

  • you are awesome man....nice keep it up....i am improving in my dressing sense...thank you very much......

  • @GreenDevilz31 Glad to hear it! Keep checking the channel...new ones coming out almost every day now!

  • I am a Muslim and from pakistan. Here we have traditional dressing but i am big fan of kind of dressing you are talking about. You are simply awesome and yes dressing matters Alot. I have subscribes to your videos.

  • @aafrdi Thanks for taking the time to say so! Glad to have you with us.

  • I started reading articles on the Art of Manliness a few days ago, and quickly found your article, which I love. Interestingly enough, I recently got a hooded sweater from Brooks Brothers that I highly prefer to any of my hooded sweatshirts, and I've also been wearing moccasins. I also found out that Vans, a skating shoe brand that I wear religiously, makes chukkas. Seeing as how I longboard to nearly every class, I believe I've found shoes that have class AND functionality. Thanks for the tips.

  • @xWattie831x Thank you - I appreciate the great comment and your story. Great to hear!

  • Thank you for this video. Dress for your future. I clean up some days but, I have found the need to treat everyday like it is an interview, a chance to improve my job status etc. I'm forming a plan and taking this to action.

  • @cactrotman Glad to hear it! Thanks for viewing and I hope our other videos will be helpful for you too.

  • Since i'm looking for quality casual loafers my price range is $100-$160. So what are some good brands in this price range

  • @wpblu Cole Haan

  • i am planning on buying some more casual loafers. What are some good brands to consider

  • @wpblu I avoid rec brands as their quality varies over product lines and years. My advice would be to learn more about shoes (there are great books on shoes on Amazon), find a trusted salesman who knows his stuff (you identify him by having a basic understanding and know the right questions to ask) and look for value brands that balance price and quality and meet your budget constraints.

  • As someone who lives in Austin, I can agree with much of what's been said. There's no event formal ebnough that someone won't show up in sandals or shorts. It's embarrassing.

  • @leonardostrassi1 It's actually funny to me know......

  • mens clothing is more complicate than i thought o_O

  • @iMayEatYourPeople Stick with us. We'll help!

  • i think i'll go out and buy a sweater like the one featured on the webpage.

  • @HeyWheresKel Wow, we're influential, huh?

  • We go to school in an area where it gets warm in the middle of December. So what would be a good shoe when it goes from 40 to 70 degrees in a week

  • @wpblu Should think you could wear most shoes in that sort of mild weather, couldn't you? Just be sure to check out our videos on how to treat and waterproof them if it's wet!

  • i really like this video! My friends and I are the type of students who want to up our style. We are usually wearing polo or oxford shirts, nice jeans or slacks, and casual shoes and loafers. But is there anything else we should do?

  • At this time of the year practice layering, bring in fun but stylish jackets, and introduce laced dress boots into the wardrobe with corduroy. Experiment at this stage in life!

  • 3 minutes to get to the info... thats topoooo long

  • @BCdipper1 It's all relative - it took you 3 months to let me know:) Haha!

  • @RealMenRealStyle touche

  • What is the difference between a sweater and sweatshirt? a Logo? a collar?

  • If I'm still working mi fit, doing excersice, yet I haven't achived a six pack-like structure, what else should I wear for instead of sweater? or does it still like good if there's a little belly visible? (I'm asking this good way I don't want any agressive comentaries)

  • I'm a sophomore in college and you've inspired me to start dressing better. Looking around campus I can see that dressing better will distinguish me from the masses. Most guys are just plain sloppy in their dress. I'm going to start phasing in polos and other collard shirts along with sweaters. Thanks for making this video.

  • all men should dress like this *O*

    -female college student(:

  • His fingers are frozen.

  • @wannabekunok They are? I will turn up the heat!

  • What's with the left lapel on your jacket?

  • @Grazfather Watch video 100 sir!

  • horrid fashion advice. REAL TIPS: shirt can range from a t-shirt with a cool design that supports a good band (Broadway Calls good band, Mac Miller...not so much) to a standard blue collar shirt. bow tie/neck tie. pants should have many pockets, chains and straps are optional. NO jeans. top hat/bowler hat are fine...but in colder regions, a beanie is fine. find some good skate shoes (vans are always great here...DON'T go with DC) black socks. sweatshirt with a wicked kickass design.

  • i just found the article and this video today. i've already started to apply these tips. i'm 20 years old, overweight (lost 32 pounds in three months and counting), and never had the most confidence growing up. now girls are always talking to me because almost nobody dresses nice in the entire campus of 15,000+ students =) this stuff WORKS with out a doubt

  • Hold on...Art Of Manliness? I've been visiting that site for the past 5 month and I never knew you were one of the author!

    Insta-subscribe! :DDD

  • So. Good. College junior here. I've started to build a smarter wardrobe and this is exactly the type of thing I'm looking for. Thank you.

  • Hey thanks for this... Its really educational and interesting when you have a listed things to talk about in the title such as ... 5 things on or 10 advices for... 8 tips on... etc... Jst catches ur attention straight away.

    Jst an advice

  • Photo examples would be a nice added touch.

  • You are fanastic and I love your videos, they show really that dress for success is what is all about. Thanks for the telling me the dress code.

  • Good stuff, thanks. You should do a video on hairstyles and which kinds look good on what different face types.

  • What is your opinion on jeans, but that are skinny legs?

  • Thank you for this, I'm a student just about to buy some more clothes. I think it's about time I started dressing like a man. Please use some British references youtube is international!

  • @codownni I'll try - although I haven't been to London for a long time. That request may be hard for me:)

  • Awesome video, except for the whole 'UT' thing. Gig 'Em!

    :)

  • @cloudsynth08 I was expecting an Aggie to give me crap - that's OK though, I was there in 05' when we represented Texas in Football just fine:)

  • @RealMenRealStyle

lol...I was just kidding...It's basically part of an Aggies job description whenever the other school is mentioned :)

I really learned some good stuff from this video though. Please keep making similar stuff for college students

  • @cloudsynth08 I know - actually, I attended grad school at UT with a number of aggies - which was funny as at games they would be sitting in the UT student section decked out in full maroon. Also - served with a number of great Aggies in the Marines. A bit obnoxious sometimes - but the kind of guys you wanted to have you back! Good memories!

    Antonio

  • Awesome. I hated when people would show up in pajamas and such. Louisiana makes it pretty tough to dress comfortably and still look nice, but college guys look like crap these days (some women as well). I would be all over a guy wearing nice jeans and a dress shirt, or even a sports jacket.

Thanks for advocating style and respect.

  • @rackfocus It is getting pretty bad - I mean, pajamas. Come on!

  • Great video and great article!

    Thanks a bunch :)

  • @shayledurkin You are welcome sir!

  • @RealMenRealStyle When you wear Polos... Is it frowned upon to show your white/black crewneck undershirt? AKA unbuttoning your polos completely.

  • Please make more videos directed toward college students!

  • @magic627 Understood - will look to do that!

  • @magic627 Will Do!
