  • He seriously has one awesome theme song.

  • how come MIB couldn't leave before he turned into the smoke monster

  • @MrWeetabixloverx1000 Were you watching the same show I was?

Everyone got stuck on that island! Including Jacob, the man in black and their mother's shipmates.

  • @MrWeetabixloverx1000 'Mother' wanted him as the protector, and not Jacob. Before he was the smoke monster, he could physically leave the island if he found a way to - but Mother would try to stop him.

  • @MrWeetabixloverx1000 Because the Guardian ie "Mother" made them both unable to kill each other.

  • For the man in the black clothes to ruin, not necessarily destroy, the world he does not have to kill anyone, he has a detailed knowlege of human behaviour & knows how to exploit it

  • They never explained how the escape of the man in black would end the world.

  • @1080portal Think about it logically. A pissed off man who can turn into smoke, kill whoever he wants and cannot be killed himself. Would you like one roaming around YOUR city?

  • @Ankhrae you heard the man, all he wants is to go home!

  • @1080portal Indeed he does. But that doesn't change the fact that he's a murderous psycho cloud of black smoke capable of living forever! :)

  • @Ankhrae His murders were for a reason and it was jacob's fault that he turned out this way. If he leaves jacob and the island then he will have no reason to murder. In all of lost, the man in black has never suggested that he wants to destroy the earth and commit mass murder. All he wants to do is go home :(

  • @1080portal home? he was born on the island. he hates humans. and when u can live forever and ur pure evil....i doubt u wont try to rule the world eventually. and the man in black had no reason to kill a lot of the people he did so obviously hes not against murdering. but the world would have ended because (idk if jacob knew this) the light would need to go out for the man in black to escape and that would lead to the end of the world

  • @Ankhrae True, true.

  • @Ankhrae True, true. Except they can stop him. With sonic fences. It wouldn't be that hard to trap him. We'd just have to lure him into a little cute sonic dharma cage.

  • @1080portal He only wanted to go home when he was human, and Mother and Jacob made the mistake of not letting him leave, But once Mib was thrown into the light it wasnt really the same man anymore, His consciousness was taken by a portion of the evil/darkness that exists under light.

  • Better set up pylons around your city lol

  • @1080portal The sickness. He would spread it throughout the world.

  • @1080portal They gave us many clues to what would happen, the most important thing would be that the evil/darkness/sickness would spread around the globe, and humanities connection(The light/island) to heaven would be severed forever.

  • @1080portal in an earlier episode the mother explains that they are there, and must remain there, to keep a balance between good and evil in the world outside of the island. its not because he is a smoke monster, lol. remember, they were both stuck on the island for hundreds of years before mib was turned into that creature.

  • @MrPhukface What earlier episode? She was in one very very late episode. And they were not there for hundreds of years before he turned into the monster. It was about 40 years after they were born. That's how he lived for hundreds of years in the first place.

  • @Ankhrae yea your right about the time-span between mlb leaving his mother and his transformation into the smoke monster. it was 30 years, my mistake. still, it was not mlb leaving the island that would've have destroyed the world, it was the extinguishing of 'the light' that would've done this. mlb's mother explained that in the 6th season.

  • @Ankhrae as to why they did not want him to leave the island, that is still a mystery. it wasn't because he became a smoke monster nor was it because he was 'immortal;' mlb was intended to stay on the island long before he turned into the smoke monster then he was killed. my guess is they didn't want mlb to leave for the same reason his mother destroyed the camp, why ben didn't want anyone to leave, and why ben moved the island, because the security of the island was/would be compromised.

  • it seems that the MIB just wants to get off the island... does he wanna kill everyone? i donno, he doesnt act like it anyway... so why doesnt jacob just let him leave?? he probably just doesnt wanna be alone in that god forsaken place

  • @Ankhrae Oh, thanks

  • Comment removed

  • srry 4 asking this dumb question cuz i only started 2 get interested in Lost since the end of the 4th season. Why cant the man in black directly kill jacob?

  • @DesiGuyTV

    This will be a spoiler.

Ummm... not really explained. It's just a no no. Their mother said she made it that way. Probably some honour thing.

  • Also, his theme song is amazing.

  • smokin' hot :D

  • Funny thing is, they're enemies, yet they're still civilized.

  • @Electrocution00 It's called 'Foe-yay', like Joker and Batman, enemies who are civil and almost totally friendly to each-other, barring the murder attempts and other villain-ry and all

  • Really? No comments about Lucifer and War having a chat? XP (MP and TW have both been on Supernatural) Sorries to spam, this was interesting to watch. <3

  • titus welliver is amazing :p

  • he has beautiful eyes

  • I understand MIB's wish to kill Jacob!

I'd do the same in his position!

  • i felt sorry for the MIB in this episode... all he ever wanted was to leave.. and he wants that so bad that he'll do anything to get what he wants.. like killing, lying...etc..

  • Yeah except for that killing and lying, he's really a nice guy/cloud of smoke.

  • @ralebp54 Think of all the evil things the survivors did to get off of the Island. Micheal killed two people and betrayed his friends, Jack worked with the Enemy, he also brought the freighter to the island, etcetera... in retrospect, the survivors killed as many people in, what, a hundred and some days as the Man in Black killed every year. And he's been there for, what? Five, six thousand years? Who knows. so personally, I'm rooting for him... if they could just let Titus Welliver play him...

  • The ending for this is pretty cool! :)
