The $99 program is to be a registered iPhone developer, meaning you can upload iPhone apps for sale in the iTunes store (once approved, good luck with that!). You can download the Xcode SDK and write and run programs on the simulator without doing this though.
I would just recommend starting with some of the sample applications in Xcode. That, with a hint of documentation, is usually the quickest way for me to learn things.
Yeah, that is what I've been trying to do. Going through apples dev center. It's just so different from anything I've done. hard to find a place to start.
nice job man (: keep them coming! do u know if the appstore will come out tomorrow or not? there is rumor of it. Anyway a cool app would be a racing game where you just tilt it. might be hard to make but would sure take advantage of the exelirometer!!! (sorry i such at spelling lol)
oh yeah, it helps... For years I would look at myself in the mirror and say I was cool, and dog-gone it people like me... but it's much more effective coming from an iPhone
I'm not sure really. Although after I saw your question, I did figure out one thing. If you are in a phone call and go to the home screen and open contacts, you can actually edit and add contacts while in the call. Before there was only the contacts button below speakerphone, but it would not allow any editing. They could have just made that button allow editing I guess. There are probably other reasons, I bet mainly that people wanted it :)
Hey Jason! Awesome video, very helpful =D
May I just ask which OS this developer software runs on? For example, will it run on Windows Vista? Thanks for the help! =D

No, Xcode is for Mac only.

Nice. Good luck with the programming. I have some questions though.
I'm trying to make a program for my job. It is relatively simple. It will basically show products and information reguarding it.
Do you have any tips on where to start. I've never programmed in Objective C before. I have done a lot of java and a little C before.

well why do you think they didnt just make it so that when you press contact in the phone app you can do all that stuff?
i mean you would think apple would be smarter than that
BrandonTv7 3 years ago
Yeah, I have no idea.
jasonee 3 years ago
