Growing up my father always sang this song, and when I met a class mate of his who coincidentally was my teacher he told me my father would sing this in school and I like that thought. I am another one of the ones that wonders if I wasnt supposed to have lived in that time but what can ya do.

@Cardoniman A lot of people think "Charlie Brown" was about the Peanuts character, but it wasn't. Plus, "Peanuts" HASN'T become completely irrelvant. (That's why the comics section in many newspapers around the world STILL run Peanuts cartoons, even though new installments ended 11 years ago.)

Firstly about the song not being about the comic strip, and secondly I shouldn't be saying such things about the Peanuts being "irrelevant" because I haven't even seen that much of them to begin with. I suppose that I just thought that because the whole mood of the "Peanuts" seems a bit banal. But I haven't really looked into the actual writing to know if it is of quality work or not. @Cardoniman Indeed... As I said, a lot of people (including me, until I found out differently) thought that "Charlie Brown" WAS about the Charlie Brown in Peanuts... I don't know many people who think that "Peanuts" is banal, but I DO know many people who think the characters "act like little adults, and not like children". But some of the old cartoons are also VERY funny (the ones from the late 1950s and 1960s)...
