This song was the epitome of Don Johnsons character Crockett and Phil M Thomas as Tubbs...2 cool dudes. Not to mention it fit the show, the atmosphere. Big ups to Jessicacool90 for the video
Right now cbs has a reboot of Hawiia 5/0 and i love Alex O loughin and Scott Cann, but that show has nothing on this show, the music and cops , it may be from the 80's but this by far tis the best ever and will always will be.
@CherubAgent1997 I was born in 1990, i've spend a lot of time on GTA Vice City, and i'm currently buying all the Miami Vice Season ond DVD... just to enjoy that 80's feeling a bit more !

@jessicacool90 u did an awesome job putting together this miami vice montage....the scene @ 0:20 seconds when crockett was walking with that chick really went well with the opening instumental...it really set the tone 4 me throughout the rest of the vid....and the scene starting @4:20 was awsome how the whole montage was wrapped up with the final scene with crockett & tubbs saying their good-byes it really captured the mode of that scene...& @5:03 when tubbs was getting teary had me...good job!!
Makes you think, what has happen to todays T.V., A-Team, Miami Vice, Magnum P.I., Knight Rider, Dukes of Hazzard became Extreme Makeover, American Idol, Nightmare Kitchen. Only reality show I watched back then was NOVA on PBS..Thank god for FX and AMC or I wouldn't watch any T.V.
dressed how he wanted...drove what he wanted...did whatever he wanted..."i buy whatever it is I feel like buying" (glades season 1) Great video! 1984-1986 Forever!!
In a heavy French accent, "Oh Sonny. I know I sucked your dick many, many, many times, but I must go back to this pock marked hood. I love him. You must understand."
@outcastguild "simplistic" is not a good word actually - you might say "easy to listen" if you care but I'd say this song is far from being simplistic ; it's soothing as well as rhythmic and pretty sexy if you ask me . thumbs up for for pure 80's coolness right there !!
Nevr knew this as being from Miami Vice as kid but wow when i remember it, it's probably the reason why ambient music is my favourite music today as a 30 year old!
Haha this sound reminds me of my local supermarket, because it's the music they play when they close everthing up in the evening. But it's really a great theme :)
Jan Hammer was born in Prague, then capital of Czechoslovakia (now the Czech Republic).[1] His mother was a well-known Czech singer named Vlasta Průchová, and his father was a doctor who worked his way through school playing vibes and bass. Hammer began playing the piano at the age of four and his formal instruction started two years later.
He aspired to follow his father into medicine until a family friend convinced him to develop his musical talents instead. Hammer formed a jazz trio in high school, performing and recording throughout Eastern Europe at the age of fourteen. Upon entrance to the Prague Academy of Musical Arts, he completed many compulsory classes including harmony, counterpoint, music history, and classical composition.
@OldSkoolgamerz I appreciate what you are saying, It's great to see younger generation to like what was really called entertainment. Yes, the show is a timeless masterpiece.
This is racking up a lot of views. Let me tell you why. This immediately transports those of a certain age to a time when we were young and pretty and life was full of possibilities. Now that our life is shit and nearly over we can look back with pure joy at the way we were. Even Don Johnson can look back at his heyday when he was hot and life was good.. I have seen him recently, even he is no Don Johnson. Ah well.
@bodhidhamma7 he's still Don Johnson.......just not Sonny Crocket anymore.....that was a once in a lifetime character portrayed by the only person who could play that role.
@RealMusicTV I suspect that you are young and imagine that the best is somewhere in the future, ie the best woman, the best job, the best car. And one day, all these aspirations will come to fruition. Eventually you will realise that you cannot achieve these things and the best is already long gone.
This video is uplifting because it evokes a time when hope was my best friend. Just like Don Johnson, I will never look so good, or feel so good again.
@bodhidhamma7 yea an in 20 years time your gonna wish you were the age you are now, so stop your bloody moaning enjoy your life look forward to your future and dont getting teary eyed about the past, i know people in there 60s who still act 25 - sort yourself out will ya, the worlds depressing enough allready without people like you. im 26 btw - doubt your even fucking 50
@RealMusicTV I knew it. I am twice your age. You will see when you are my age, just you wait, if you live that long, that is. And why is your world so depressing?

@alexoprel I have to agree with you; I have no regrets or wish to be really young and have missed out on the greatest decade ever. It was fun and I am happy with my memories. I truly loved the first 3 seasons of Miami vice although 4 & 5 were kind of dark; but thats life. No other show served better as a soundtrack to the 80s with its positive feel and excitement. I am glad I am not alone when I think back on it.
You know what killed the continuance of shows like Miami Vice? Well I'll tell you... DEMOGRAPHICS......the network turdlings efforts to appeal to all age groups, races, religions, economic levels, etc., just watered down tv programming to a mass of politically correct doo-doo....
I enjoy driving my Jaguar XJS, and before that I used to have a Porsche 944, id wear my white linen suit jacket with the sleeves rolled up, with ripped jeans, skin tone T-shirt, feathered hair, listening to all the 80s legends and cruising around :).

I have watched this video, Miami Vice was my fav in 1985 and when I lived in Costa Rica, had to watch there as well...kept my focused on creativity: USA is the best country in the world where we have the best musicians, artists, creative produces and screen writers....When you live a foreign country, you miss, that type of creativity that only America has produced. Thanks for keeping this up on YOUTUBE
