  • EuroTom.. I think you are so right.. I know they have a script to go by but you can see the saddness here when Victoria has to hold Carmen.. This sceen touches me so deeply..Douglas was so loved...

  • I cry every time I see this. This was NOT just acting. The cast (and crew) of Another World loved Douglass Watson so much. "He loved you Iris. He... he loved you too"

  • This is probably the most touching scene ever between Iris and Rachel...considering how much they despised each other. This made me tear up because despite Iris's being evil she truly loved her father and Rachel truly was a devoted wife to Mac.

  • NBC IS STILL A JOKE DAYS IS WORST THAN JERSEY SHORE..MATTER OF TIME

  • When AW was on it's game, (romance, family, intrigue--in that order) there simply was not a better soap on TV.

  • @Lyndam98 Another World was wonderful.Hated to see it go.

  • Iris, make herself to pwerful ? Oh ya sure :)

  • I think we all agree the "Lumina" story was the absolute lowest point in AW. It was only a short while after that debacle that the show got the axe. Felicia, Cass, Frankie-- Oh, I forgot how much I hated the Felicia/John romance. Totally out of character for John Hudson. But I did love the Donna/Matt relationship.

  • @Lyndam98 Is that the story where some mysterious man who;s apparantly 100 or 1000 yrs old raised Frankie from the ashes ? That was insane, and then when the show got the axe he become nice lol oh boy, I wish that was on youtube. Does anyone know ?

  • @tallderektoronto You know, I don't really remember. It was so awful...I do remember Frankie returning as a ghost to see Charlie... Looked like a spaceship or something...first he was after Amanda as his reincarnated love? Then it turned out it was really Rachel? We never did figure it out. NBC and Procter and Gamble were at such odds over the soap that I'm sure someone decided it was time to "jump the shark" and kill the show.

  • @tallderektoronto Are you speaking of the Jordan Stark storyline? I have that transferred onto DVD and am just waiting to get more clips of it together. Are you seriously interested in seeing it?

  • @ANOTHERWORLDlover I would ! I would love to see the scenes where he resurected Frankie frame from the grave ! That was insane but sooooo cool

  • once they cancelled this show all soaps went to hell..how many are left 3..

  • Great acting, truly miss AW. A classic cast of great actors. Victoria Wyndham, Carmen Duncan, Douglass Watson, Charles Keating, Linda Dano and so many more!

  • truly heartbreaking scene. do not know how rachel kept it together while holding iris. cried when it originally aired, and i cried again.

  • Another World isn't on anymore because the people in charge ruined the show...this year and the next few years after were still classic and amazing AW..but around 1993-1994, everything went to hell and never recovered...and AW was cancelled..this scene is AW at its best

  • The only way this scene could have been any better than it was, would be if Beverlee Mckinsey was still portraying Iris. Someone on You Tube once commented that the Iris/Rachel/Mac story at it's peak was Shakesperian. How true. Another World always had the best quality of acting on any daytime show.

  • @muscled57 Carmen Duncan went onto to make the role of Iris her own, she was magnifacent

  • with acting like that why isnt this show still on

  • This scene is so powerful. After almost 20 years of tension between the characters of Rachel and Iris, they both finally acknowledge to one another that Mac loved both of them. Where is this rich history in daytime today? Why is this show not on today? It needs to be revived on-line with cast members like Victoria Wyndham and Carmen Duncan. I would be glued to my computer.

  • This is definitely one of the most emotional scenes ever produced in daytime or any other media! The heartbreak is so deep and knowing that the actors were also reeling from the death of Douglass when they shot this makes it even more painful for them & the viewers. Thank you for sharing these scenes with us.

  • yes it is true.. They had been holding in their grief pretending Mac was still alive and finally they were forced to go through the death a second time, this time for Mac... the first time for Douglass.

  • wow!! I cried!

  • oh my god!!!! one of the saddest scenes.. ever..
