This is great! How much would it cost me to get one a those? I play Mandolin because my hands are to small for guitar, but switching over to this would be a sure thing!
Looks like this has been here for over two years -- but i just saw it for the first time. Whipped out my bouzouki and started practicing rhythm right along with it, a bunch of times, first using double stop rhythms on the G/D courses, then on the D/A courses, then on the A/E courses. Doing that sure sharpens your automatic-type accompaninment... Thanks for posting, you have great timing and it was a pleasure to play along with you! --Scott
Isn't the octave mandolin called a Mandocello too? I have been thinking of getting one, but my budget cringes at the thought. Regardless, wonderful tone out of that piece.
There is a difference. For one the tuning. An octave mandolin's tuned G D A E (As a mandolin, just 1 octave lower), a mando-cello is normally tuned C G D A. But with many mandocellos it's possible to tune them as an octave mandolin.

this is the first video of you playing your octave mandolin
it would be so awsome if you played a double neck with a mandolin neck and a octave mandolin neck

That octave mandolin has suck a sweet voice. Your excellent playing made it sound like a fabled siren.

Sweet playing, Jim. The octave really favors one I saw Compton playing in Asheville. It was a hoss. Kimbles does some good stuff, without a doubt.

It is the one Compton had. Will made two for Mike; this is the second (the one he played the longest).
