if youve ever been there its real lame these guys will give you shit for doing any flip tricks so i pretty much go there kill the spot and bounce before a bunch of old dudes try to fight me
@soundjamz - actually, each frame was hand drawn on parchment paper and then hand colored. The 70's porno music was added later. Thanks for watching ;-)
I skated that place heavily too. I graduated from Westbury in '81. Skated there in the around late '76 on. Remember, Michael Emerson, David Gordon, Scott Durham, Troy Gardner, Mike Ibenthal?
Great seeing this old home movie. During this same period, on Houston's northside, we were rideing what some called the Meatgrinder. There is a video posted here, called Dumbass Longboarder, but some of the original top section is missing? Some of us guys originally road it on clay wheels. A set of wheels would only last one day! Then the orginal Cadilac Wheels became available in Houston around 75 or so. does anyone have any old home movies of the Meatgrinder? Please post them!! ,
I remember this place! Grew up about a mile and a half from there. I spent summers from 1967 to 1974 riding my bike up and down the banks of Braes Bayou. I aso remember floods in the Bayou and we would dive into or ride our bikes in to the "rooster tail" where the water was rushing in form the ditch . Caught turtles & crawdads & killed water mocasins!

The "pipeline" is located on the Braes Bayou at the intersection of South Braeswood and Fondren. It's about 100 yards or so to the west of the bridge on Fondren that crosses over the bayou. My brother, friends and I used to go there whenever we could in high school. It was a great place, but a lot more dangerous than it looks. Great video. I wonder how many of the guys in the video went to Sharpstown HS.
This video is great. I am barely 23 years old so I could never skate pipeline but i would have loved to hit it up. I love this old footage. To me, this footage is very refreshing to see. It just makes me want to go out and skate. Go out there and just get back to rolling around and just enjoy it. Yeah I know there will be the occasional ollie over curbs but that stuff is the funnest thing to me sometimes. No tricks, just rolling.
You are welcome Frankie. I skated EZ also back in late 70s to 81. Mostly Pipeline and Meatgrinders, up the ditch from EZ. I just checked out your EZ vids and your music. Good stuff. Elrider?
No, EZ-7s is still there last I saw. This place was in SW Houston. Speed bumps were put in by the city in late 70s or early 80s. A couple of friends and I tried to scrape them off shortly afterwards but it was too big a job. It was a wonderful place to be in the 70s.
This place was the best. I skated it from about '76 until the damn speed bumps destroyed it. After that we moved to Meat Grinder and EZ7s but it was not the same. I have some washed out 8mm footage of Creekmont and EZs.
Thanks for posting. It brought back some good memories.
