Look at the video from "I Still Haven't Found What I'm Looking For". U2-mania hadn't really hit the US yet, so as they walk down the Vegas strip at night, only about 30 people at any one time surround them while they make the video. Here they nearly cause a riot with all the people who show up to get a peek at them....

I read an article that an interviewer was driving with Bono in his expensive sportscar through the streets of Dublin, as the interviewer listened to the new, unreleased U2 album. As they were passing 3 or 4 teens on the street. Bono pulled over, and asked if they wanted to get in the back to hear the new album. Of course, they all recognized Bono immediately, and were thrilled at the prospect, diving into the backseat of Bono's car. And so he drove around while the kids listened excitedly!
