Why do people always compare civics to cobalt ss? So what if a turbo civic will beat it, stock for stock, dollar for dollar the cobalt will come ahead, purchase price of the two is very similar so when you dump 5g into a hondata dump 5g into the cobalt, see who wins.

well a little info johncarl0707... cobalts ss/sc come's stock with a high-flow cat on it so you not replacing it with a high-flow it has one on it .... reaserch!!!! it helps.hahha
This video is pretty lame.....But to all of you guys who think the ss/sc dynos in the 180 range, you're somewhat close...On a mustang dyno (which reads the lowest) the dyno around 190...Dynojets have the ss's dynoing at around 210-215...My slowbalt with intake and catback dynoed 234 whp and 211 wtq on a dyno jet (the very same dyno on the same day my friends srt4 stock put down 228whp and like 252 wtq)...So please do some research people kthanksbye

Whether you build a car NA or Forced Induction is all about whatever you feel suits you. Either way you end up with the same power for the most part. Its a matter of how much you want to spend. Going forced induction you will end up spending around $2,000.00 less and have easier upkeep. I enjoy forced induction personally. As for the Cobalt SS/SC, it is a good car. Very underrated. Also, when looking at Jap companies, never forget Nissan.

My bad I didn't know you had an SS/SC. I like em. I personally think that they're better looking than any of the SRT-4's or WRX's or EVO's out there. But I have a VR6 that I'm gonna be supercharging pretty soon and I should be pushing 235hp and about 240torque. But I personally like supers better. And again my bad I didn't know you drove one. I wasn't hating on them either, but that's gotta be a sweet ride.

Yea, just the plain sound of the VR6 is unbeatable. The Growl of the VR6 is so amazing, but add the whine of a supercharger to it and you got something that is even better. I love my car except it has the tendency to blow up on me alot. But it is pretty quick, I can't wait til I supercharge it. and you're right there is nothing like the whine of a supercharger, not even the whistle of a turbo, even though those are nice as well.

Listen, you cant run 10 lbs of boost on the motors in the RSX-s or Si on stock internals. HIGH COMPRESSION = LESS PSI FOR FORCED INDUCTION. Go back to physics 101 jackass. You would need to completely overhaul that motor with aftermarket internals to get that type of boost and quite frankly, anyone who dumps 7K into a civic or an RSX is a retard. actually and srt stock pulls a 13.9 with driver mod. the ss can do 14.1 with driver mod.... so it's really a drivers race. when mine was stock i beat an srt-4.. i also lost to a few as well. now with stage 2 a stock srt has no chance.
same goes for the srt-4 stage 2, except look at the hp gains from the srt-4 compared to the cobalt ss when going stage 2, the turbo pushes a lot more hp than the supercharger
Dude these things are known to have oil leak problems out the ass. And the dealer won't cover it cause they assume everyone has been driving them extremely hard. But maybe you go lucky and got one of the ones that doesn't have that problem. All I know is that i know plenty of people who have that problem with theirs.
not all ss are supercharged, they have a non supercharged right on chevys site and its a ss! WHY PUT A TURBO? change out your pulleys and avoid the heat issues with turbos.

Actually I baselined a cobalt SS earlier this week and it made 220 hp and 194 lb. ft. of torque, not too shabby im my opinion, and it's one of the most consistent cars I've ever seen on the dyno, these Ecotecs really are some of the best engines out right now from any manufacturer, and I'm not an American car guy at all, but I'm considering picking up a cobalt SS or maybe just buying a crate Ecotec to play with.
Christian, you need to do your research, Civic si, is turbocharged and only has 160 hp.. Non-turbos like a vtech or w/e u call them are around 135 hp..

the injectors make part of the stage two kit.. i wrote the wrong word,, either way the injectors and the smaller pulley sent the cobalt to some what around 245 hp add a cat back and a cold air intake and your around 260 whp, thats evo and sti territory

While no car advertises wheel horsepower over crank horsepower like that idiot said, they very well could be overrated. I've heard they were a little bit. The SRT-4's WERE underrated and that's common knowledge. They were listed at 230 hp and they have dynoed stock at a little more than that.
"Catback full exhaust"...???...Catback exhaust replaces the stock catalytic converters with either a straight pipe or a high-flow cat...Full exhaust means a replacement of all the stock exhaust components from the exhaust manifold to the muffler...i.e.-full exhaust is everything from the headers to the muffler...Like I said before, do everyone who watches these videos a huge favor and shut the fuck up...Every post you make only serves to further embarrass you...
ur the biggest fuckin tool i know. seriously. i read a TON of tuner mags, that feature project car. they add parts to these cars and dyno them. in most cases a cat back exhaust, only gives u about 2-4 more hp. a true cai not short ram depending on application is anywhere from 5-10. the ss is rated at 205 CRANK hp. with i/e i would bet it would dyno at about 185 WHP. if u read any tuner mags, u would have read that u lose about 15% of your hp to the ground at the flywheel. do some math fuck head

Whether you build a car NA or Forced Induction is all about whatever you feel suits you. Either way you end up with the same power for the most part. Its a matter of how much you want to spend. Going forced induction you will end up spending around $2,000.00 less and have easier upkeep. I enjoy forced induction personally. As for the Cobalt SS/SC, it is a good car. Very underrated. Also, when looking at Jap companies, never forget Nissan.

My bad I didn't know you had an SS/SC. I like em. I personally think that they're better looking than any of the SRT-4's or WRX's or EVO's out there. But I have a VR6 that I'm gonna be supercharging pretty soon and I should be pushing 235hp and about 240torque. But I personally like supers better. And again my bad I didn't know you drove one. I wasn't hating on them either, but that's gotta be a sweet ride.

Yea, just the plain sound of the VR6 is unbeatable. The Growl of the VR6 is so amazing, but add the whine of a supercharger to it and you got something that is even better. I love my car except it has the tendency to blow up on me alot. But it is pretty quick, I can't wait til I supercharge it. and you're right there is nothing like the whine of a supercharger, not even the whistle of a turbo, even though those are nice as well.

Okay, im sooooo tired of this what if u didn't have a supercharger arguement. If the cobalt ss/sc didn't have a supercharger then would it be the cobalt ss supercharged now, well would it? I think not! The same goes for an evo, an evo is not an evo without a turbo. The car is what as it as it rolls off the assembly line. Most fast cars are just faster versions of its base model, without their stock performance upgrades than they're just base models.

But then again, you can make a cobalt really fast..those ecotecs can be built up fairly nicely..if you put enough money into it, just as with anything else. I would personaly have something RWD or AWD as opposed to FWD. If you want a real sports car, go rwd.. If you cant afford it, then stick with the cobalt and mod the shit out of it..But it still wont save you from a descently modded s2k. honda>gm

As I've told you, and PROVEN TO YOU, you cannot simply slap forced induction onto a high compression motor like yours and expect to get a huge gain to the point where you would be "blowing people away" as you put it. What.... lol, you can run MAYBE 5 lbs of boost at most. Yeah that's good for about 10hp. Stick with your intakes and cherry bomb mufflers you rice lover. Listen, you cant run 10 lbs of boost on the motors in the RSX-s or Si on stock internals. HIGH COMPRESSION = LESS PSI FOR FORCED INDUCTION. Go back to physics 101 jackass. You would need to completely overhaul that motor with aftermarket internals to get that type of boost and quite frankly, anyone who dumps 7K into a civic or an RSX is a retard. Sorry, just my opinion.

actually bud not to be an ass but the 2006 wrx has a "turbocharged", yes folks it has a turbo, and just for the heck of it..... it includes an intercooled 2.5 liter DOHC 16-valve flat 4, with a 5 speed manual. wrx STi same thing but with a 6 speed manual.

actually and srt stock pulls a 13.9 with driver mod. the ss can do 14.1 with driver mod.... so it's really a drivers race. when mine was stock i beat an srt-4.. i also lost to a few as well. now with stage 2 a stock srt has no chance.

Actually I baselined a cobalt SS earlier this week and it made 220 hp and 194 lb. ft. of torque, not too shabby im my opinion, and it's one of the most consistent cars I've ever seen on the dyno, these Ecotecs really are some of the best engines out right now from any manufacturer, and I'm not an American car guy at all, but I'm considering picking up a cobalt SS or maybe just buying a crate Ecotec to play with.

the injectors make part of the stage two kit.. i wrote the wrong word,, either way the injectors and the smaller pulley sent the cobalt to some what around 245 hp add a cat back and a cold air intake and your around 260 whp, thats evo and sti territory

ok dick head.. some stock cobalts dyno at 210hp at the wheals, the stage two cobalts that get dynoed are somewhere around 245hp, a good cold air intake gives you a good 8-10 hp- and a catback full exaust gives you anothere 5-8hp if not more.. chevy sold the cobalt with the whp, both the srt4 and the cobalt give alot more at the crank stock,, maybe you should do some research.. ok. only honda sells their cars promoting them with crank hp, thats the only way their shit seals.

While no car advertises wheel horsepower over crank horsepower like that idiot said, they very well could be overrated. I've heard they were a little bit. The SRT-4's WERE underrated and that's common knowledge. They were listed at 230 hp and they have dynoed stock at a little more than that.

"Catback full exhaust"...???...Catback exhaust replaces the stock catalytic converters with either a straight pipe or a high-flow cat...Full exhaust means a replacement of all the stock exhaust components from the exhaust manifold to the muffler...i.e.-full exhaust is everything from the headers to the muffler...Like I said before, do everyone who watches these videos a huge favor and shut the fuck up...Every post you make only serves to further embarrass you...

ur the biggest fuckin tool i know. seriously. i read a TON of tuner mags, that feature project car. they add parts to these cars and dyno them. in most cases a cat back exhaust, only gives u about 2-4 more hp. a true cai not short ram depending on application is anywhere from 5-10. the ss is rated at 205 CRANK hp. with i/e i would bet it would dyno at about 185 WHP. if u read any tuner mags, u would have read that u lose about 15% of your hp to the ground at the flywheel. do some math fuck head
