This monitor is awesome. the 1920x1200 (full HD) resolution makes everything look great. Watching DVDs and Blu-Ray movies on it is simply a far better experience than anything I've ever had. The viewing angle leaves a bit to be desired though. All-in-all it's a great monitor with its 2ms response time and HDMI in. I use it to play my Xbox 360 on in HD.
Hey crash. did you use the HDMI or VGA adapter to this monitor for the xbox 360?
because i when i use the VGA adapter for it, the screen stutters and tears when playing any xbox 360 game. Same for when i set my resolution lower than the native 1920 x 1200 using a DVI cable... i wonder the framerate capper is corrupt in it.
I use the HDMI port. VGA is analog so I'd expect at least some problems. Might as well stick to a digital signal if your monitor and system support it.

hi i have been thinking for so long if i should get a full 1080p lcd tv or if i should get an acer p243w? would the acer show as much detail as a full hd tv?
It depends on what you would use more. PC Monitor viewing or TV watching. On Paper, the Acer P243w spec's are far superior to almost all HDTV's even some 1080p's. I have a 720p Television and this monitor and this monitor plays games really well. This monitor is a gaming monitor.
I would go Acer so you get a better image but if your gonna watch a lot of TV then get a 1080p TV.
Hi there, I have this monitor and think it's great. I would like a PS3 to use on this screen but I'm worried about the image being stretched.
I can make my PC force 1080p resolution with bars at the top and bottom and wondered if there was now a way of forcing 1080p on the PS3 so I don't get any distortion?
It depends on the game. WARHAWK doesn't stretch the image at all and it maintains a 16:9 ratio but games like Motorstorm or Oblivion stretch it to make it a 16:10 ratio. All 720p HD only games are different. Games that I set up to 1080p all cover the whole screen and look amazing! The 720p games that stretch the image don't look as good as the one's that don't stretch the image.

just got this monitor, it does have 1:1 pixel mapping.
the only problem is, it's backlight bleeding is terrible...but it doesnt bother me much, since its only noticeable in black screen.

yes you can. As long as your not looking up to the monitor then you should be fine.
My desk and my bed are at around the same height level so I can watch movies without any problems.

how about using this screen with a ps3?

Pretty darn good. NEW EGG states that its both 160 degree's horizontal and vertical and I can vouch for that. Great monitor!
