  • Wow...it's amazing how much common sense people lack. I'm a HGV driver, a typical lorry has 6 mirrors on...anymore would actually start creating blindspots! HGV's used at night is better as there's less traffic to contend with, which is safer and more eco-friendly. And ban HGV's and replace them with vans...really? One lorry can carry the load of roughly 20 vans, bit of maths, 10 lorries = 200 vans to worry about...that would ease congestion! I think most of you need to actually start thinking

  • Downfader you would agree they should be banned they are to dangerous, use smaller Vans around the cities and Towns. Have these Juggernauts drop their loads off at Warehoues outside Urban Areas. Those Streets are to narrow.

  • Really, really would like to see this on the TV!! The trouble with videos like this online is sadly only the converted (as you might say) seem to end up watching.

Put this on during Corrie's break or after The One Show and you might have a better audience.

  • They tend to put the public info ads on at 3am!

(there is an especially vomit inducing rat poison/online pills one at the moment)

  • Those Cycle Lanes are to narrow, there is a need to Narrow the Road and remove those Trucks off the Road completely. They are alright for Motorways but not the Urban Landscape. Maybe late at night for an Hour or so to deliver to the Shops but Barred at other times.

  • Joe, I couldnt imagine LGVs being used at night. I mean thats a nasty shift to do a job for anyone, let alone drivers.I think you'd miss your families too with late night shifts.

  • Not to mention it will increase prices of everything, including food.

People don't seem to realise that... HGV and LGV at night only... and your food prices soar.

  • I would agree that road safety posters should be up on tv, cinema and posters round town. Lorries shoudl be fitted with blind spot mirrors and have signs warning cyclists at the back. Also lorries should be fitted with blind spot mirrors on the front too.

  • A lot around here are fitted with the extra mirrors. Sadly its a LOT of information to take in for the drivers imo.

  • i am a HGV and PCV driver it is hard trouble is you cant educate people who wont listen or want to learn and it does take a collission to make them think unfortunatly, last week i took my first cyclist off no matter how hard i explained to him that he was in my blind spot he wouldnt listen in the end he was acctually arrested for dangerous cycling, i hope he learnt his lesson but it needs to be taught to everyone car drivers and cyclists hence why we lorry and coach drivers are professional.

  • What about kids who aren't seen by lorries too? The roads should be made safer for in experienced people. Lorries should have a mirror for cyclists and they should be done for contributory negligence for not having the proper mirrors.

  • good video! i'm surprised nobody commented on this so far...and only 148 people watched it....nobody is guilty, everyone should take their on responsability, the governament in the first place that put so many people on the road without preparing the city for it... such a big city.....not as small as Amsterdam...why they don't show this video everywere..cinemas, public spaces?
