It would be impossible for Obama to appear any more arrogant than he already does. I assume that you are implying that Bush was a "neoconservative." He was a president who didn't veto a single spending bill in his eight years in office and increased the public debt by over $1 trillion. He can claim to be a conservative all he wants, but the reality is that he was the most fiscally liberal president in American history. Poltical ideologies cut across both parties.

The contoversy over Obama's bow was actually started by Japanese journalists, who thought that his bow made him appear weak and naive. Japan is right on North Korea's doorstep, and they want the American President to appear firm and in control, not like a lap dog. This controversy was not started by Fox news, they merely reported on it.

Being the first president in over half a century to bow to the Japanese emperor has been perceived as weakness by some in Japan. I don't necessarily agree that it made him look weak, alittle naive maybe, but not weak. I agree Fox, like any news network would, exploited the story, but they did not break it.

And I have no problem with diplomacy, but I am a fan of the "walk softly and carry a big stick" brand of diplomacy. I think Obama has been fairly weak when it comes to our dealings with foreign nations. He has to know when to kiss feet and when to use that big stick.

As far as foreign relations go, I'm only 24 and for as long as I've been old enough to pay attention, it seems America hasn't had good foreign relations. I think he was polite, and if he hadn't bowed it would have been criticized as well. I wish news would stick to the issues, so I don't have to work so hard for credible information
