But throughout the series, as there are common elements between all the games, (such as Cid, the crystals etc.) these characters exist too, and they are known as "The Four Fiends".

@t3hchardz well thats true but the elemental fiends are called so because they have a more monster like appearnce like lich, marililth, kraken and tiamat while the elemental lords are rubicante, scarmiglione, cagnazzo and barbariccia and have more human like features

I don't know how many times I've played this game. I still can't get enough of it. I looked at a guide for the DS version once and I was surprised to see that Cagnazzo is actually weak against ice! You DO have to use a Bolt spell (or Thunder depending on the version) to get rid of the wave, but it is indeed most vulnerable to ice. Two casts of the highest ice spell and it's dead. So, I had Tellah attack with Ice3 and Palom using Bolt just to make the wave go away. Easiest boss in any version.

cagnazzo was..... easy? just use bolt3 and bolt2 every time tsunami warning! pops up. he dies in simply 2 or 3 bolt3's. i didn't find that out until i experimented.
